Last week half day off so went to a fs hot spot (10yrs+ ago) but all the hibiscus bushes already gone to make way for running track...still remember last time can catch up to 20+ medium to huge f/m fs in a shot if can tahan the mosquito bites as they attacked in a thick black hovering swarm (1-2ft wide) even apply insect repellent also end up with bruises all over the body. Tried to keep the fs alive but it's a pity that most didn't last long, at most a few weeks only. Read from some books that general lifespan for most spiders are around 1 year and for some 5 years or more. The lifespan of female tarantula even exceeds 15 years or more.

Usually, those good spots with dense population of fs are heavily infested with mosquitoes but nowadays the fs and insect populations are also decreasing due to torrid weather as well as fumigation.
