Hi all,

I own a first generation Gen2 1.6 (M). Normally for my car service I just do everything as instructed by the manual. I normally use Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 semi syn oil and the rest original parts from Proton. Was wondering if there's anything better than I can put for my car this time around for my servicing?

I've been reading up about iridium spark plugs. Are these really performance enhancing? How about air filter? I've read a few threads talking about K&N drop in air filter.....are these the same as my normal original proton air filter? How about the lubricant? What is the best or high performance lubricant? I know fully syn is better right? Some price guide would be appreciated. They also need to be easily sourced as I don't live in KL. Sorry quite noobish bout such things....any help and suggestions on performance enhancing stuff would be greatly appreciated

Lastly, any Gen2 owners tried Bridgestone 195/55/15 RE001 b4? Price and comments?

oh...me noob here..wanan ask sum question about gen2..can i?

i guess my gen2 aircon is not cold enuf...guess its not the knob problem..though setting the temperature to the least...but the blowing air is not strong enuf..wat shud i do?

wow, i tot gen2 pick up were slow all da while mayb u can pick up dulu only buka air cond XD

got guide how to clean the air filter ? mine i think already dusty, cause air cond not strong enough

i dont think need to service yet laa..unless its not cold already

Replaced the air-cond filter for only 40bucks with ori patco filter..

or you can get the cap-ayam brand for only 25bucks..6months ago i bought 1, now not sure price

hope it remains..mine almost 6months already..im about to change

mine is 06 model and using patco type, but my friend is 05 model and it can be washed.

solve the uderpowered issue by changing the extractor, midbox n rear muffler...ahhahahaha want more? add in an FPR...still not enuff? get a campulley n go to any expert tuner...not enuff n still hunger for power? go for pnp, rebore, hicam etc...ahhaahhahhahahaha

For me,

it's average of 34-36L for every 320KM ..
I'm driving full 100% KL roads.

There is a few method I'm testing now:

1. Reduce the speed to (avg) 70km , rpm 2000 plus minus.
2. Consistent speed; meaning = minimize braking.
3. Control right leg; meaning = dont rempit.
But it is hard. Even when we dont decelerate, we can go to 90-100km so easily...
p/s: Low speed in gen2 = very boring.
