hi all
can somebody tell me what type of bedding is this?

user posted image

one more thing, my hamster is long fur type..what to change his bedding coz rite now using chipsi classic and it always stuck on his fur. somebody suggest me to change to corn cob but the i found this article

QUOTE
Any form of scented shavings should be avoided as these can also cause irritation and Corn cob bedding is not generally recommended as it has a tendency to mould and hamsters have been known to eat it and it can then swell when wet inside the stomach.

so any other suggestion for bedding? can we DIY bedding using newspaper? blend it with water and dry it? im not tryin to be kedekut..just asking..hehehe tongue.gif coz i read there is one type of bedding using recycle newspaper called yesterday news of sumthing..cant remember.

OVO is good because it imitates hamster nature. burrows, underground tunnels..that kind of thing. AFAIK hamster/rodent love confined space. breathing never a problem to them..because of their superior heart beat rate they can survive in bad circulation or less air enviroment. (eg: burrow tunnel). animals with ability to hibernate usually can easily adapt. ehehe..they are animals..of coz they dunno they sit or sleep on pee or poo. dun put him in hamster shoes as we dont put hamster in ours.lol. hamster live totally based on instict and their nature. so we with the brain..pandai2 la fikir. give them better and healthy life.

for me the only problem with modern and complicated cage is for us the owner...its a hard work to clean this kind of cage. and when there is bad air circulation..mold, bacteria and other bad stuff can easily appear, so better stick with simple cage or plastic tank. the simpler the better.

ah one more...found in wiki. hamster not nocturnal, they crepuscular. ehehe dunno if its correct or not.

i guess my hamster is not normal..ehehe. he not active all night. he will wake for food and grooming at 6-7 pm. then go back inside his hidebox and stay inside there. when i peek he is sleeping..gosh! then around 4 am he will start go out and play on his wheel until 10 am. this is my observation for the past 3 month.im able to do this because i got class only after 3-4 pm. so i sleep after subuh ehehehe..kinda lucky for me got time to spend with my hammies. ahaha he is one spoiled hammie, lazy and always sleep..different from my WW. looks like he active 27/7.lol.

glass tank more cheaper than plastic tank. last time one shop sell RM 40 for 2 ft plastic tank. then he offer me other glass tank for RM 25. its 60x30x30 cm in dimension.
