Hey there, 1st time owner of 2 winter hamsters.

I've had my hamsters for a month or so now, and since they were together, the male hamster kept 'humping' the female hamster, and after a few days, this process stopped. Though I don't think I've ever saw any process of intercourse or anything.

Anyway, my female hamster has become more aggressive nowadays, it keeps biting my palm when I play with it(it didn't use to do that when I first got it), and it seems to have grown fatter. But I'm not really sure if it's just fat or pregnant. It's still very active and runs on the wheel very very often, and loves climbing up here and there, and sometimes it even jumps off the places it climbs shakehead.gif

Will it have a miscarriage if it is pregnant? Is it even pregnant? I can't seem to take pictures of it cause it keeps avoiding me and runs around non stop.

I need advice on what to do next, help!

@snowdrop

Ur female hammy would be probably pregnant. Female hammy will be aggressive due to pregnancy. Hamster @ the age of 2 months will start breeding. As i know, miscarriage doesnt apply to hamsters. The female will still born it out, the only problem might face is just cannibalism. Maybe other LYN's member wanna add up some points?

Thanks a lot! I read through the forums last night and bought a new cage to separate the male and the female hamster already.
Now I'm just nervously waiting for the female hamster to give birth smile.gif

Hey guys, it's been 2 days since my hamster has given birth now! So far I've only separated the male and mother hamster, and have been keeping the mother hamster it a dark part of the room and only been going near the cage to feed her(cause I'm scared she might eat the babies or something).

What should I do next?

Read the first page carefully cause it have all the answer and know what you should and shouldn't do. Crazymouse already listed there very clearly.  smile.gif

I've read the rules. I just wanna know what to do after 24 days and what else to expect.
Personal experience for feedback would be useful.
