i have 4 hamsters now:-

1. DumDum, male - syrian, longhair, golden banded


2. DomDom, male - RC, white, red eyed


3. BB, male - WW Pudding


4. YY, male - WW Pearl

a normal plastic 2ft tank will only cost bout RM40+, glass tank summore cheaper, depends on your location. it is better for u to check at your nearby aquarium shop, those old old aquarium shop sell cheaper actually...

it is big enuff for 1 syrian as well as the tube but not the running ball.

my WW also like to sleep in the bathroom... cannot tahan the cuteness

those actually are my sister's "hardwork" LOL~ she was so excited when i brought back the new hammies n said wan to decorate their house... dun worry, those are non toxic ink.

maybe ur hammies house also write address then we can post to each other?!

that's very easy, just cut a hole at the plastic bottle then use the suction cup to stick it on ur tank's wall. the ladder made by chopsticks...

then put email address lor~

i think for ur bear bear... need those big 1.5l bottle lor... coz they r too chubby...

Added on April 17, 2008, 12:18 amjust to remind those who wan to follow my plastic bottle idea, pls use tape to cover the cutting edge 1st b4 u install it. there is a risk for them to get hurt. but can't help if they bite it lor~

the bottle is just a tube for my hammy to climb in n roam around. coz this will be much more easier to clean rather than those fancy tube. whether to sleep there or not is on their calls. anyway, my hammy dun sleep in there, he sleep on the roof...

which part u r not sure with? i think even if i take another pic also will be almost the same coz i only use camera phone to snap... i've draw a simple plan here, see if u could understand or not la...

*please tape all the cutting edge to prevent ur hammy to get hurt
*i'm just sharing my DIY work here, but if any unpleasant thing happen, dun blame me ya... it just works well with my WW.

Added on April 17, 2008, 11:35 amwell... it supposed to be good for them to chew... but my hammy just ignore watever the mineral stone/wood block i bought for them but like stand on it like those lion in the circus~ they enjoy biting their wooden house, chewing hay, digging corn bedding... all these are enuff to keep them bz actually.

hav to tie very tight with many layers. 1st few times will bite, then after few bitings the thread still there n my hammy let go n surrender dy... hehe

Added on April 17, 2008, 1:52 pmwell, habitrail is consider good dy. but of coz prestige will be the best lor. u can mix both in portion for a more balanced diet. i will suggest u to give ur hammy sum fresh food(like brocolli, pak choy, apple, banana, papaya...) as well as mealworms besides of ur normal hamster dry food. u will sure see the difference in a month, they really grow healthier and more chubby

btw, what hamster r u having? carrot should only be given in very very small quantity for drawf hamster.

but if mix with normal wood shaving bedding ler? will it be better? for my syrian, i put 3/4 corn beding n 1/4 wood shaving bedding...

sorry to hear that. dun be too sad... at least u hav take good care of ur hammy n given it a place called home.

Wow~ your hamster so 'hang fok' got ZooZone, got Wodent wheel, got Living World house... so rich man...

spend more time to talk n play with it, will get tamed very fast 1

not so fast 1 normally... u need bout few weeks more. just spend more time to talk with ur jojo, hand feed him... b4 u touch him, rub ur fingers with bedding then talk softly with him n slowly sayang it's back. then try to put ur palm n see if he allow u to cup him up or not. if he run, hand feed him sum treats n again sayang him back... dun force to catch it when he run, this will make him more panic with u. slowly repeat these steps everyday, sure he will surrender n come to ur palm 1 day. remember to wash hand after u play with him. sumtimes even when u dun hav the time to play with him, u can always sit infront of the tank n talk with him. let him familiar with ur voice n smell. but make sure u dun kacau him when he is sleeping.
