some sifu in this thread said, habitrail is one of the best if compared to other cheap staple food e.g delikate etc. thats make me change from delikate to habitrail. like dien and some other forumer, i mixed habitrail with prestige, because cannot afford to feed prestige only to my hammies..(i had a syrian, pair of ww, five rc and pair of gerbil)

taming an adult RC...quiet difficult...i only has experience in taming young rc..from they are still pups..must start play with them..to let them biasa with your hand smell..even with doing this..not all Rc will be tame..
if i am not mistaken. the genetic also play role..thats why when i breed rc, i breed the tame one so the potential to produce tame pups is more.. |

daddy rc can take care youngs..i also heard that before..but never experienced bcoz like dien did, i saperated them.this is to avoid the daddy mate again with the mommy..than you may get another litter of pups, while the first litter were not big enough yet..
Added on February 12, 2008, 12:59 ambreeding two mottled hamster are very dangerous, the risk is production of cacat pups, such as no eyes,no teeth..then this kind of pups will die This post has been edited by kembara: Feb 12 2008, 12:59 AM |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 12 2008, 03:03 AM) Happy CNY to everyone. heheh the sifu had come...now everything is clear..as clear as light..I'm back after a long month of working.... Well, I don't really have time to read everything and reply one by one.... so see how it goes, will try to reply those that need help. Anyway, breeding is never easy, there is much planning to be made. Extra cages/tanks... food.... care.... supplies.... But most important is never breed if you do not have knowledge on hamster breeding. Breed for the right reasons. I see a few people who are breeding for quality and tameness, good for you guys and go on in doing proper breeding, concentrate on what you got. Never breed if you cannot handle death... also never breed if you got sibling hamsters..... Never overbreed. Almost all dwarf hamster males actually take care of the young.... this I have seen before with own experience once.... but then the males just sleep on them and groom them sometimes..... the female hamster is the key care giver. So always separate your females after they have birth of have shown signs of pregnancy already. There is no need for the male to be with the young..... in the wild, dwarf hamsters live in colonies.... but they rarely fight badly since they got lots of space in the wild to escape or hide. In captivity, it is just a small space for them, so escaping fights and squabbles and breedings is just hard. We are responsible for our pets, so we must give them a good life. Make sure you do the right thing and provide proper care for your hamsters. Added on February 12, 2008, 2:04 am Bright red coz of camera and lighting. It is not called maroon eyes.... it is called Ruby.... but it can differ in shades..... |
