i think that kind of disease are very rare to happen.. unless your pets come from sewer or garbage area..so dont worry..
memang very hard to happen..if you get your hamster from home breeder it wont even happen Chubby Hamsters V6, Sleeping furballs of Fun!

That's why it is very important to get your pet from reputable breeders, we wont know whether they are good or not by what they themselves claim as, visit them!

4 weeks old is too early. But i do think 2-4 months. But 2 months abit early like mine, if the girl give birth to 5 or 6 pups, only a few survive like mine.

A new addition to our hammy family:
Shasha the black eyed cream syrian. Bought her from My Pets in Ipoh ![]() ![]() Saw some black eyed goldens in My Pets also. All very nice colors. Today came back from Ipoh and found JackJack's testicles was healing from an injury or something. Anyone seen anything like this before? Anyone know any vets that can treat hamsters? I found that he didn't eat much of his Prestige that we left for him when we went to Ipoh. See the right testicles there are wounds healing. ![]() This post has been edited by sangels: Feb 16 2008, 06:55 PM |

yup looks like he got bitten...
i was into hamsters about 10 years back and during those times there was very little medication available locally for hammies. Hence, i've used the 'yellow solution' - iodine i think, the kind that ppl use for cuts on me hammies quite often. No ill effects, but there are probably better alternatives nowadays. |

We got a new 2 feet tank from JTL last night when coming back from Ipoh. The pictures of Shasha was taken when she is a cardboard box we used to transport her home from Ipoh.
Added on February 17, 2008, 11:33 am QUOTE(sOuLx @ Feb 17 2008, 05:43 AM) Yes Shasha is a solid cream syrian with black eyes. We bought her for RM12 at My Pets in Ipoh. There also solid golden syrians there... But Shasha was very cute and manja. Plus she is quite tame.Added on February 17, 2008, 11:36 am QUOTE(sangels @ Feb 16 2008, 06:22 PM) Today came back from Ipoh and found JackJack's testicles was healing from an injury or something. QUOTE(cekapstabilo @ Feb 17 2008, 06:05 PM) Yes he can. All my syrians can bend a C shape to lick their testicles. Something like how dogs or cats do it. But not sure why he bit his own testicles in the first place but the vet said it could due to irrations to his testicles.JackJack is on antibiotics to help subdue the inflamation of his testicles. The vet is in Taman Segar, Cheras. They also treats small animals besides dogs and cats. QUOTE(CallMeMonkey @ Feb 16 2008, 05:47 PM) hi all, may i know what is the earliest age of hamster so that it can make babies? Hamsters sexually mature at 5 weeks old, but if WW or Robos, 8 weeks can already breed. You should start separating at 5 to 6 weeks old. my friend say it is 4 weeks old, so need confirmation here QUOTE(sangels @ Feb 16 2008, 06:22 PM) A new addition to our hammy family: Hahaha, saw your Shasha that day. From the pic, is a bit hard to tell. You should try Hands and Paws vet. Ask jtl to give you the contact and directions, dr Jenny should know how to treat as she has done quite a number of treatments on my small animals. Dr Jenny is in on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
