New members to the family    

Bought 4 solid syrians in CTY Aquariums Penang today. 3 males & 1 female. About 5-6 weeks old. Very cheap and healthy as they CTY feed them fresh vege everyday!    


3 males solids. Cream (SamSam), Umbrous (DigDig) and Sable (AshAsh)    


Female solid umbrous.     But she belongs to a friend who tumpang us to buy from Penang.


Now the 3 males are staying in a 2 feet tank and the female alone in the temporary tank. Going to PetShack tomorrow to get their new homes.

People in Penang can go to CTY to get as there more there.

Went to PetShack yesterday to get another 2 more 2 feet tanks and the other accessories. As what JTL said, buying a hamster is cheap but it's expensive spending on their stuffs      Now having 5 tanks (1 ZooZone2 and 4 2 feet tanks) in my dining hall. They love the wheel and the house so much

Bought the playpen from PetShack for the hammies to play around while cleaning their home. This is what happened when JackJack is inside   Really a super-boy!

Yeap!   Fumoffu, DigDig and SamSam is using wodent wheel, JackJack and AshAsh is using Sanko wheel.
Thanks Tame hamsters will stay on hand without biting or jumping from your hand. They are still half tame as they still a bit scared to come to my hand or for me to catch them from the tank, unlike JackJack and Fumoffu, you can do whatever to them and they don't even care or bite. Need some time to make them fully tame as they are only with me for few days  
try to feed him fruits and veges in a balance way. Only fruits may caused diarrhea as fruits contain high in fluid. You can give them fruits like guava, apple and pear as these are fruits which contain less fluids. You can also try mealworms. They'll love it like all my hammies do

We like AshAsh when we first saw him in the pet shop on the first day of out trip and we go and see whether he still there on the 2nd day. Finally went and bought him on the last day, thank god they still there waiting for us to bring them home    

Where do i buy this woody pet wood pellets?

My hamsters looks a bit too small for a syrian so thats why I thought mayb I need a smaller one. Plus it never plays with the wheel. Don't know why. Always just stay in the house. PLus habitrail is mostly plastic isnt it? I dont like those metal cages, the hamsters bite the paint and metal off.

haha my dad also said im like a hamster, always stay in my room only, drink in my room, lepak in my room, sleep in my room (duh) and sometimes eat in my room. Only I dont pee/poo in my room, the toilet is next door

Syrians are one of the biggest hamster species kept as pets. Most petshops have very little knowledge and would advice you to get those small cute cute cages or even keep them in a pair.

Please do not fall into this trap. Syrians are totally different. They can fight to death and need a large cage. That cage shown with the little golden banded is toooooo small lah. The wheel is for dwarf, not near enough suitable for syrians.

At least Critter Trail and Habitrail is even better for Syrians, that is if talking about cage.... those cheap cages that we find actually aren't really that suitable. The best housing for a syrian would be either a 1.5ft tank/plastic aquarium or 2ft. A wheel that is 8inches is needed and jtl sells Wodent Wheels, so so suitable for Syrians.

It is natural for hamsters to hide and sleep often coz by nature, they hide to protect themselves and stay out of sight from danger.

I agree with you. It's not even RM20.... hamsters eat like 1 to 2 teaspoons a day.... I don't think that is expensive. Keeping 1 or 2 hamsters is so economical... not like me LOL.... I got over 30 hamsters.... That's 16 Syrians, 12 RC, 4 WW and 2 robos....

Anyone know if this is good for the hammy?





I give them this brand & they normally dont eat the "pellets"

As this bag is going finish...just thinking if l should continues buying this?  Or get "Harry Hamster" ?

If I go back to kuching I'll try to rmbr to get some for you No promises tho, not sure when (and if) we are going back
