You got Harry Hamster which also got kuaci inside but why you still get a pack of kuaci?

Try not to give too much kuaci even though they like it more than other food. They will eat others when there is no more kuaci to eat.

You also give them fresh vegetables or fruits. Try a slice of apple, they will love it more than kuaci.

Syrians are one of the biggest hamster species kept as pets. Most petshops have very little knowledge and would advice you to get those small cute cute cages or even keep them in a pair.

Please do not fall into this trap. Syrians are totally different. They can fight to death and need a large cage. That cage shown with the little golden banded is toooooo small lah. The wheel is for dwarf, not near enough suitable for syrians.

At least Critter Trail and Habitrail is even better for Syrians, that is if talking about cage.... those cheap cages that we find actually aren't really that suitable. The best housing for a syrian would be either a 1.5ft tank/plastic aquarium or 2ft. A wheel that is 8inches is needed and jtl sells Wodent Wheels, so so suitable for Syrians.

It is natural for hamsters to hide and sleep often coz by nature, they hide to protect themselves and stay out of sight from danger.

I agree with you. It's not even RM20.... hamsters eat like 1 to 2 teaspoons a day.... I don't think that is expensive. Keeping 1 or 2 hamsters is so economical... not like me LOL.... I got over 30 hamsters.... That's 16 Syrians, 12 RC, 4 WW and 2 robos....

Baby hamsters can only be separated 6 weeks after birth.... so do not separate earlier than 4 weeks. 5 weeks still ok but they need to learn some stuff from their mom.

If you do not wanna breed hamsters, then do not put your male and female together.... it will only bring about more trouble and more mouths for you to feed if you are on a tight budget.

he's cute .. if i'm not wrong he's 9 months old now, assuming he was 1 mth old when i bought him..

In Malaysia very unpredictable loh.... that's why all the WW we see, they don't really look that great. Compared to those overseas, ours would have sharp noses, small eyes.... no bullet shape bodies.... colour also a bit off. So when breeding, need to choose carefully.

So far I have never seen any WW suitable for breeding after I stopped breeding WW. I'm still in the look out for good quality WW.

Anyway, Nos.... I actually do have an Opal RC.... was bought from Pets Wonderland but it was the only 1 in the whole batch. RCs comes in many colours but it is very difficult to find all the varieties.

Lor.. kesian nye.. must be very hungry.. i oso experience a lot of escapee hamster in the 42 hammies i ever had before... but will find them later.. becoz i live by my self in my apartment and all the doors gap are seal, so they cannot escape..

But one day, one of my robo escape.. cudnt find it anywhere in my house.. but a day later i found it behind the fire door at the staircase outside my house.. Lucky he didnt climb down the staircase..

Now got 2 hammies only.. dun have time to play with hamsters.. but love them so much .. they're tame, cute n sweet...

Heh, nvr feed them with mealworm.. geli ooo.. but sometimes wil feed them the rabbit pellets and cat food, but a few only..

5 years ago, i bought them for RM12 each.. but a few weeks ago, i saw the shop sell about RM8 each.. I bought my Robo 3 years ago for RM22 each, now RM15 only... now hamsters are cheap.. i wonder when will the sgliders price go down. 

Getting cheaper and cheaper coz hamster really breeds a lot and it can be out of control at times.

Penang very cheap only. Syrians only RM7. Robos RM15. WW and RC can't remember but cheaper than in KL.

We bought 4 syrians from CTY Penang.

You didn't see Syrians in Ipoh cos you never search. We bought ShaSha the solid cream in Ipoh, she is so tame, healthy and nice. We just spent about 2 days and visited about 4 pet shops in Ipoh. You need afford to get good stuffs, they won't come to you just like that.

1) Of cos you can't find Syrian in Ipoh cos old town only can find white coffee, everybody included non Ipoh people know that    

2) Wonder how many years you staying in Ipoh and are you from Ipoh?   How come you don't know the road? Ipoh such a small town, and you know where's MGS (you should know cos I think that's your school, right?), there's already one pet shops within walking distance I can find the road even I've not staying in Ipoh for almost 10 years, I believe it's not difficult at all for you to find your way also.

3) If you really have the heart to find yourself a pet you like, I'm 100% sure you definitely can get one without taking 'don't know the road well' as an excuse. We can bought 4 Syrians during our trip to Penang and guess what? We don't know the road at all. We just drive around and found a pet shop, then stop and go down and paid a visit. It's all about passion. We didn't find our solid color Syrains easily or by luck, just because we love pets especially hamsters after we have our very first Syrian.

4) Wanna to advise you to put some effort to get what you really like, hope you can get it Also wanna remind you, you said you wanna get 2, be reminded you need 2 tanks to house them and the accessories is not cheap although hamster itself is very cheap. Do not give them up or give them not so good food due to financial limitations like your friend do. All the best to you ya

Scratchy is ok but Itchy is rather stressed and restless now ever since I took it out of the cage, put it in the cookie jar then later "upgrade" to ice cream box. Didn't have a chance to go out yesterday to get a new cage, going now in a few mins time.
Sigh... I actually got this sibling WW pair as a gift. I really wish they'd get together. As it is, I'm thinking of getting a second cage and maybe put a connector in between. If they fight, remove the connector and use it to connect some other extension instead.. hopefully once they get their own space they'd stop fighting even with the connector connecting the 2 cages.

I think it's normal, coz at the age of 5days it cant really show much.... As long as the smaller pup can drink milk frm mum then can already... later he/she will catch up the size of his/her siblings  nothing to eb worried about.. keep on observe them...

all ur hamsters are ww rite? All ur ww are in their adults? btw ww are not sociable and won't live together peacefully unless they are siblings, but even then, the hamsters might fight fatally. It is adviced to keep them single.

If you buy a pair of young hamster siblings from the pet store then they will most likely be fine. If your dwarf hamster has been on it's own for a while then it is much less likely to accept new company.
so it is depends on which situation you are in now. Based on what u labeled as "sometimes" then shouldn't be a problem for them to live together. Fighting hamsters should only be separated if the fight results in any blood being shed by either hamster. This is defined as serious fighting. If your hamsters do seem to fight, keep in mind that many fights occur through lack of space and food. These fight will eventually lead to death. So beware.....

About shitting on ur hand, it is because the hamster is too scared. This is very common so there is no problem with it. Until the hammy reached intimate level, the hammy will not shit on ur hand again  .
About the smells, what the hammy ate, will affect the outcome of the shits smell. For example, for human, eat petai; then when berak what smell u can sniff? Ofcoz it's smelly smell of petai rite. i think it is something like that.

As soon as the mum gv birth to 1st batch pups, there might be a chance for both the parents to mate again..... u should separate the father at very 1st after u notice the mum is pregnant... so how now? 8 more newborns with mother + some of the 1st batch hammies..u should have separated them(1st batch babies) rite? tehre are no reasons for not separating the father at 1st, bcoz ww father doesnt really take care of the pups.. unlike RC.. the father take care of the pups...
