i'm not sure about this "RC daddy can help take care of the pups when just given birth"..
what i know, whenever my RCs give birth, i take the daddy out from the cage.. same goes to other type of hamsters..
i do this to avoid over breeding, and stress of the mom..

about the mottled.. regarding to my little knowledge.. only combination of mottled and mottled is prohibited..

(please correct me if i'm wrong)..

i rear my hamsters in my room..
but i put them distance from my bed.. not too near to me..
smelly?? just make sure to clean their tank frequently..
