Hows the cottage cheese looks like? Can hamster really eat them?

I would suggest not giving your hamster cheese. Most animals are lactose intolerant and cheese and milk can give them diarrhea.
*
how to describe cottage cheese? u can always google it if u dunno.. if i din rmb wrongly sum1 ere mentioned can feed cottage cheese to hamsters.. but in small amounts of cos.. anything if fed too much is not good also.. safest is stick to hamster mix plus protein food n veggies/fruits.. but beware of the wet-tail disease..

If you don't find the mom in 24 hours, the babies can die from cold and also no milk. If you put with another female, chances are the other female may reject or cannibalize.

Keep on looking for your female. You still really have to find her.
*
my female ww n female rc are able to take care of other mum's pups.. sometimes i let them take turns to milk the babies so tat wont burden the mother too much.. is this impossible in syrian? just want to noe..

Dwarf is different. They are communal. Syrians it really depends. If lucky then ok.... if not, end up with dead babies.
*
oic.. actually i dun understand how come a female can milk other mum's pups when she doesnt have milk.. but i saw them milk the babies n the babies are able to survive n grow well.. do milk glands appear tat fast i wonder?

Its basic hamster cage, the ham i dunno how old but looks bigger than other ham they selling,so i guess its adult one,no other stuff provide....
*
usually adult ham from pet shops r difficult to tame.. make sure it's tame before u buy.. i guess the pet shop wanna get rid of old ham tat's y they offer this package.. up to u actually.. i bought my starter kit in Giant cheras for rm68 inclusive of cage, bedding, food, water bottle, n hamster of cos..
another prob is if u buy in pairs they adult ham will breed soon n u'll end up buying more cages n stuff.. plan everything well b4 u buy ya..

1 thing to be careful of OVO is that it has very little ventilation.. also if it is a hot day, a hamster can actually die staying inside..

I've read the rules. I just wanna know what to do after 24 days and what else to expect.
Personal experience for feedback would be useful.

well, when the babies have reached 1 month old, separate the males from females.. yup, u need another few cages to do that.. also never breed the female again until after 3 months at least.. just be prepared that ur expenses will shoot up double or maybe triple..

QUOTE(lemonadegirl @ Apr 13 2008, 10:52 PM)
Hello all. I need asap help. My dwarf hamster who eats alot has refused food from my hand and her food dish. She didnt eat her fav sunflower seeds and corn and regular pre-mixed. She did eat a quarter of dog food pebble tho, is a quarter enough for the whole day?? she ate only a quarter of it. another question, why isnt she eatin her fav seeds and corn and the pre-mixed??? wut is wrong wit her? do all hamsters take food from your hand just when they want to? Mine has always taken all the food from my hand but today she hasnt. could her teeth be too long or somethin?? she's still active, but she's not eatin food. I wonder where she gets the energy. and she hardly bites her cage but today she's bitin the bars like a psycho. ppl, please tell me wuts wrong wit my hamster.
*
it could be becos she has stored some food in her cheek pouches n start eating from her stored food instead of new food u give her.. nothing wrong with that.. u dun have to worry about hamster eating as long as u have enough food available.. she will find food according to her own timing..

biting the cage is a very normal yet bad habit.. to prevent it, provide mineral stone in her cage.. mineral stone can be found in pet shops, some with funny shapes like carrot n corn.. providing wood to chew on will help to a certain extent only, becos metal bars taste 'nicer' than wood.. anyway those who keep hamsters in tanks or storage boxes do not face this cage-biting problem, which is good..

i read about separation the male n female when they got 1 month old, is the same as for the mother? when can i separate the mother from their babies n what age the babies start stop drinking milk from her mother?
*
best time to separate from mum is also 1 months old, tho they stop milking at about 3 weeks old.. but let the pups be with the mum till they're 1 month old cos the mum will teach them some stuff..
