Hi guys,

I just came back from a almost a year break, the things is I completely forgot how to play my Shadow priest. Can some one give me some guide lines or spell rotation for the below 3 scenario?

1) PVE - leveling/grinding/farming
2) Raid
3) PVP - important.

I just totally lost touch with my priest, really need some help. icon_question.gif

Another problem is my pw: shield, after casting and not long after that the bubble will disappear even before the timer run out, I know it is still up because when I get hit it still say absorb and the buff icon is still there ticking, just that visually the bubble is gone, really irritating for me to as it is much easier to judge by visual to see whether my shield is still up or not.

f I remember correctly it shouldn't be like this, is there any setting I need to tweak or anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks for the help in advance.

pvp = spec disc

and for your bubble graphics, its most likely your spell effects set to minimum

Best resource out there. But I'd say be careful when you post questions and put them in the Newcomer's Land.

And read the stickies first though. The old-timers can come down upon you very hard on L2P on that forums.

Yo Tim,

My spell rotation usually goes this way

PVE/level/grind:
(Mana efficient) VT, Mindflay, mob arrive fear him and repeat mindflay then when he's about to die just wand him.

(Quick kill) shield up, mindblast, mindflayx2, mindblast, sw:death

Raid: pw-pain, VT, VE (if group really need heals otherwise u will build up higher aggro), mindblast, fade (reduce your mb aggro), mindflay all the way & renew dots.
Only do mindblast + fade if your mana is not low otherwise just dot + mindflay all the way.

PVP:

1) Get gears to up your hp to 10k, resilience to minimum 400 and spell damage to minimum 650.

2) Get a better combo partner, like 2v2 with rogue or UA warlock.

3) Play lots & lots of arena games with your permanent partner until no tomorrow biggrin.gif

Based on what i read in some guides,
1. gear up all the spirit item u have.
2. when PVE and b4 u get shadow form, use this ->
cast mind blast, turn around and start running, while running cast SW:Pain and cast VE(this 2 spells no need u 2 stop to cast them), turn around and MindFlay mob, when the mob near u and start to hit u,shield urself and wand the mob to death...ur will never stop for mana rest if u follow this steps based on my exp.

No, for leveling no need Divine Spirit.

OP, I'm assuming that u're continuing where u left off, and ur priest is lvl 60?

U didnt mention if ure leveling with anyone else so im assuming ure going solo. Just spec 14/0/47, make sure u max wand, spirit tap, and meditation. Spell rotation isn't really important for solo grinding farming as most mobs will die before u can complete a cycle. Just remember to open with MB to get their attention as it has a cast timer.

U'll only get a chance to work on ur spell rotation when ure in dungeons as the mobs there have more health for u to go thru ur spell cycles. Remember to stack on + spell dmg.

As for PVP, there's no such thing as spell rotation as it is completely situational.

Sprit is secondary when it comes to raiding.

Spirit is KING when it comes to leveling. However, there still has to be a balance between damage and spirit. But due to lack of nice +dmg or +shadowdmg items pre level 70, spirit would be easier to obtain. However, you have to make sure that you have spirit tap when you level and you're all good to go.

The other questions have been pretty much covered by others, but if you want some pointers for raiding just let know and I can give you my prepatch 2.3 experience as a shadowpriest. Dont think there has been much changes to them, but I've been off touch with WoW for a few months already, pretty busy with other stuff.

spirit to a shadow priest in raiding is pretty much shit. TS's pve extent is just leveling/grinding/farming though
