Instead of talking how low the market will go, why not we pool together and start identifying the POTENTIAL. Then other experts can share more insight into the share and let us have better information to make informed decision.

Well, let me try with my list.
Share Target price Reason
MAHSING <1.70 Good stock and like its landbank and management.
STAREIT <0.85 For the dividend.
AXREIT <1.70 For the dividend.
TEXCHEM <1.30 For dividend.
YILAI <1.00 For dividend - this is very close already - might shoot for 0.90 or less.
BJCorp <1.20 For dividend

That's all in my list. There are other stocks but I dare not target so many or some might be out of my reach.

So any insight are welcome and appreciated.

I am surprised to hear people buying BJCorp now, time has changed a lot.
*
You are probably right about it. BJCorp might be a long shot but I like its investment in other companies. Hope they can continue to invest more in other companies and be the next Warren Buffet of Malaysia. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif Wishful thinking.

Edit: Not very much into buying rights issue unless it is attactive and I can afford it. Just want to take it as another platform that is better than FD and hope that its investment in other companies will bring me more upside surprises.

2nd Edit: Oh, thanks for the info. I have not done enough research to understand this stock. You are right! Those rights issue will kill my goose very fast.

I just realised yesterday after i read the investment house recommendation - that YiLai pays good dividend (13 sens annually, as high as 12% DY)

YiLai price is affordable, too smile.gif

A lot of ppl like it for the dividend but it target-price from analyst have not been very high. It always hover around 1.20 & 1.30. So there might be a risk there. I mean it won't appreciate as much as other stock.

Oh no!!! That means I won't be able to get my target price. Sigh. Back to the drawing board again.

&(&($^(!^$(&#*& Maybank2u.com stock trading sucks!!! Can't get on to it since 9am.

Can someone suggest a good online trading service where I can easily transfer money in/out?

Besides, can someone give me a brief how it was done using other share trading service? I heard that you have to send cheque in or something to clear the transaction right? Need to sort this out as most of the time rely on the unreliable Maybank2u.com. Gosh! How silly I am!!!

No hard feeling. Can sense that you are having a light moment.

Personally, I prefer another big drop with plenty of red tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif . That will give us a chance for a better CNY and year 2008. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Pre GE Rally ?

If you check back the track records, one out of 4/5 or more elections , you had a rally.

So why is it so special this time ? Heard anything from PM ?

If there is supposed to be one . UMNO would sell their shares to you, so that they could get more bullets to shoot during the election.

Be careful.
*
SKY 1809, how come suddenly brought up the topic pre-GE rally? Anyone said anything about it?

Well, my experience is that if you are holding any GE related share, do sell them after the GE. The previous GE shows that straight after GE where they have won big and do not need the money to campaign anymore, they will sell down. Then, we will get stuck and cry. I lost a few K during last GE. Sad case. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

It has been like that for recent months, very volatile, some sort like headless chicken running wild, don't know where they are going.  biggrin.gif

Recent US economy data also didn't provide any clear indicator, like yesterday, ADP employment report shows good job market, but GDP figure showing near to stagnant. Lot of contradicting data and indicators currently.

Anyone here believe in feng-shui or any other prediction?
Anyone here attended the Joey Yap seminar last week?

Anyway, just something to share.

What he said might have a solid point. He said he was ask how does he view this new year. Then he show a picture (mountain water painting - direct translation from cantonese) that show a very blur, cloudy mountain covered with a lot clouds. He said: This will be what you experience this year: blur blur sotong tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif (mong mong cha cha in cantonese - his exact word, not blur blur sotong).

So perhaps we (at least me) are experiencing that with the sudden swing north and swing south. So my strategy moving forward is fundamental, strong earning and good dividends.

Best of luck to everyone.

Should be before. If they do 'goreng', 'after' is too late already.

Remember buy on rumour and sell on news.  icon_idea.gif

Oh, ya. You are right. Sell 1 or 2 days before GE to lock in gain or cut lost.

Past records did indicate small timers were losing money cos they  jumped into to buy UMNO counters, not knowing people are selling the shares to them ( bought much earlier ). Your timing has to be very perfect.
*
I did not buy GE/UMNO share that time la. I don't even know what is GE/UMNO related share at that time. But their sell down somehow affected the whole market and I was dragged into it. Sad case. But it was a good learning experience. Makes me smarter.

If you new to the markets, rule no. 1, do not play contra. You get caught like a bear waiting to be roasted.

Rule no. 2, if you jump in when the market is hot, that is the time, people are able to push their shares to you. Then slowly, they buy back from the very bottom after the goreng. Cos it is artificial high without support or fundamental.

The tuition fee is very expensive, sometime more than local  university fee for one year.
*
Thanks for the advice.

Never play contra. Mostly buy for long term and got some small investment in 'rumours' stock. Well, whatever it is, we must be able to take the expensive tuition fee. Never ever borrow to 'pay' for this tuition fees. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Market already starting to lose steam (perhaps)......it's down a couple of points. It surprised me when it opened with a plus sign as I thought when DJ is down normally KLSE is down. Furthermore, with no clear lead and news in the market, where do they find the stimulant?

Hmm, maybe a lot of us hunting for CNY ang pao.

Just 2cents speculation.

Edit: Correction! It went back up again. Gosh! It is like a yo-yo today.

there is a daily report on who acquired/disposed what stock at what quantity
shall we use that as an indicator?  unsure.gif
ohmy.gif  my exposure to U.S stocks is very very minimal
my investment book did mention about ENRON, the price dropped like mad
the book taught me not to put all eggs in a basket, we must diversify our stocks smile.gif
*
Correct me if I am wrong, it is a regulation to report to KLSE only if you are a majority share holders or some big shoot in the company when you buy/sell the share. There is no report for any normal layman like myself, isn't it?

I really admire and impress with you guys. You guys:
1. Can seem to spot which share to buy
2. Can afford those high price counter
3. Can spot which share for contra
And best of all make a big killing/earning from it.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to spot the potential counter or afford the high price one. I am still waiting for those that I am monitoring to move.

Sigh. sad.gif

erm U.S market drops for recession worry, almost -199 points now
tomorrow KLSE probably will drop, partly is also due to long CNY holidays, ppl profit taking

but no worries, can pick up some IOI
if budget is tight, can consider dreams_achiever's suggestion, pick up its call warrants

i wanna see how high IOI can go on next week rolleyes.gif
*
Everyone can dislike me for being the devil and evil in wishing that KLSE will drop again due to whatever reason. That is when I can start to see if I can accumulate some counter for this new year. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hopefully can 'sapu' some share when they reach my target price.

Tomorrow (oh, in fact it is today) is 'nian san sap maan' (Chinese New Year Eve). Wish everyone a better Rat year and Gong Xi Fatt BIG BIG Chai.

now is the time to jump off, not jump in

remember, buy on rumour, sell on news

when the news is out, everyone will be profit taking, price will go down, and you'll be ended up stucked at high price

The price will drop after election day or after they annouced election date (parliment dissolved)? If my memory is correct, market crashed after last GE (election day), isn't that so? Anyway, hope you guys can enlighten me with more info. Still learning everyday about KLSE.

OK, I think I got the message. buy on rumour, sell on news!

Thanks.

BTW, just curious. Is Pana our KLSE master? Like Warren Buffet or George Soros is in other market is it? Or who is the share-master in Hong Kong? It's Lee something.
