It's impossible for TM to be throttling it unless they've invested in some highly advanced techniques (unlikely).

My speeds are OK. There are many other factors that can affect your speed so it's not necessarily TM's fault.

EDIT:
From Wikipedia:
"Encryption also won't stop a traffic shaping system configured to universally slow down all encrypted, unidentifiable or unknown protocols using a method as simple as packet loss."

utorrent isn't working for me anymore. I'm getting less then <10 KB/s, a few weeks back I could get 100> kb/s.

But then again, the whole internet seems really slow these last couple days, I can't even stream video from some sites.

Sometimes I have the illusion that it's being throttled, but the fact is I can still get good speeds. I believe it must just be some of the torrents.

Great torrent guide..Thx..

But question..What if im connected wireless to my modem router? Still can do port forwarding right>
*
Yes, you can. Just make sure that you're using a fixed LAN IP.

Alternatively you may use UPnP. You don't really have to set anything up this way. Make sure to check a few things:
1. UPnP is enabled in your router.
2. The Universal Plug and Play Device Host Service and the SSDP Discovery Service are running.
3. In µTorrent, go to Options > Preferences > Connections, check "Enable UPnP port mapping".

I tried the guide. No such luck. Its 5 AM over here and I'm getting ~ 10 KB/s on a torrent with 300 seeds. I think TM net has found a way to block encrypted torrents, or there is something wrong with the .net connection.

Try this.

Official: µTorrent Connection Setup Guide

If you're still having problems go to the µTorrent forum. Hope this helps.

eh.. do guys have problems connecting to demonoid's tracker?

at home i always get "connection closed by peer" for over 2 months now.

but at office, no problem at all. can easily connect.

Demonoid tracker is blocked by TM. Use a proxy or Tor to bypass.

You may want to try Vidalia. Here are some basic steps to get it working with µTorrent:

1. Install the Vidalia bundle which comes with Vidalia, Tor and Privoxy.
2. Run Vidalia and Privoxy, wait for Tor to be connected (green onion icon).
3. Run µTorrent and change the proxy settings in Options > Preferences > Connection:
Type: HTTP
Address: localhost
Port: 8118
4. Start your torrent or update tracker.

Yes, I suppose it does add some security risks:

I've tried running this, but all my trackers just show "Proxy Connect Error:"

What am I missing?
*
Are you connected to Tor (green onion icon)? Is Privoxy running? Did you enter the correct proxy details in µTorrent?

That's all I can think of. smile.gif

But does Vidalia help you to increase BT speed? I tried it and after 1 hour, still the same, speed around 5kbps.
*
It doesn't help to increase your speed directly but merely allows you to connect to blocked trackers.

Why i download open office got very good speed but other torrent with xxxxx seeders are so slow? How the throttle work?
*
What you see is not what you get. It depends on how many seeds/peers you're connected to, where they're from, what's their speed etc. And of course the seeds:peers ratio matters a lot too.

I'm not convinced of any successful throttling by TM (yet). smile.gif

Thanks. I wish I have a 1M line...

Btw TM blocked minglong tracker (Nipponsei's), just like how they blocked Demonoid tracker.

depend sumtimes, i got that speed only until 12pm, then never exceed 10kb/s until early morning sweat.gif

Most people online at night so it's understandable, but your slow speed may be due to less seeds from the US at that time (depending on the torrent you're downloading of course).

before this,i'm using thunder aka xunlei.
i'm always happy with the fast speed.
then i heard that it bring lots of side effect and it even ''take'' your file without your permision.
i duno how true is it but it make me feel dangerous.hahax~  rclxub.gif
so,i start to make research which is the best among thunder, uttorent,bc and etc.
finally,i choose utorrent. icon_rolleyes.gif
thanks for sharing all the info.  tongue.gif
one question...
should i enable the Upnp port mapping? sweat.gif
*
The UPnP implementation in µTorrent is near fail-proof, I guess... If you're not paranoid about security you can enable it to save all the trouble of manual port forwarding (no need to port-forward again when you change the port number).

Of course you should make sure that your router supports UPnP and that the required services are enabled in Windows.

My friend had this problem too. I don't know the reason but does it happen to every torrent? (I know I'm not of any help. Lol...)
