ok2..i get wat u mean. the reason why i hate it is becoz i never actually felt in love with the P1i when i use it..coz it needs time to get used to the keyboard. thats my point. my only true point. no assumptions ok?

n all the user here must be feeling like stupid if they complain on the keyboard. since u can tell how it felt the first time u hold the phone. so why buy it in the first place? rite?

Added on February 1, 2008, 5:45 pmi know..it a totally diff based..but still the P1i used stylus. a stylus shud work on every corner of the smartphone platform. if not, it would not get complain from a x-user like me.

Added on February 1, 2008, 5:51 pmok thats about it. i won't complain anymore. but i will never agree it is the Ultimate Smartphone. the end.

Calm down children.
At this point, which is the ultimate phone then?
Otherwise, everyone subject to say this base on their preference.
I think there's no PERFECT phone yet in the market.
No matter how good a phone is, there's always pros & cons.

Besides, the key pad works perfectly fine with many people, I for example.
I am practicing to type with one hand at this moment, cos it is the biggest problem i find with the key pad, n i believe the same applies to all qwerty key pad phones too.

hello hello

it is fine to argue / disagree about a the good and bad of the phone. but keep your talk well presented, as diff. ppl have diff opinions and it is not compulsory for everyone/someone to agree what you think.

Dear ridox_orimabu,

I very admire your courage to start something suddenly in the middle of a 2k+ thread. (don't forget this is V2)

1st, if you don't like this phone, you can comment it, but not flame it. The reason why people buy this phone cause they love it. Just like food, we don't go for food we don't like, and flame the seller for selling such a bad food.

2nd, don't like the keypad? Send an e-mail to Sony Ericsson, or maybe you wanted everyone to know, the newspaper. Pay the newspaper and ask them to publish your review on this phone. So that people like us don't buy this "not-so-smart and unpractical so called smartphone". And the next day, congratulation, you're famous like Britney Spears shaving off her hair.

3rd, the UIQ doesn't that s*ck. IMO, it gives more smoothness than the WM, a lot. Oh yea maybe UIQ doesn't have that much softwares like WM, but still some famous software does come in UIQ base.

4th, the keypad doesn't s*ck too, or like you said - useless. The keypad mapping is according to QWERTY keyboard mapping. If the P1i's keypad s*ck, then you s*ck too, cause you're using a QWERTY keyboard to type everything here. Plus, do you see anyone complaining about the keypad here? other than you?

5th, after viewing E51's thread, I found out something interesting about this phone.

Okay maybe I sounded a lil bit fishy, there're still some supporter of this phone on that thread. But, do we go flame them, without any intension? Think about it.

6th, if you're below 18, its time for you to learn how to respect people. If you're 18, its time to grow up. If you're above 18, congratulation, you've just became a kid-dult, which mean you have an adult body, with a kiddo thinking.

Conclusion? Ummm... LEAVE US ALONE AND GO BACK TO MARS.

Eh guys, i wasn't that lucky...

Phone shop dun replace a new one... Instead i malu there...

The 'Locked' is the autofocus lock. Then we r suppose to press deeper, right? Apparently, i didn't press deep enuf.  blush.gif The shopkeeper told me to use my finger nails...

Are all the P1i camera button that difficult to press? I have used k700, k810, k850, w810, w850 and s500 and the camera button not as bad as this...

Can u guys imagine, i press until my hands were shaking... shocking.gif

They name card thingy option is damn cool!!!
*
haha..u make me wonder what exactly the problem is and i actually tried all sort of situation to replicate your problem tongue.gif
if u noticed, the P1i camera button behave exactly like normal camera shutter button. it's a 2 level press button. at 1st level, the camera will focus (then it tells u it found the right focus and lock it - "focus locked"). as u press deeper, the 2nd level, it snap the pic. to me, SE got it right by using this method. just like real camera. to some, the button might fell a bit hard, may be because u have to press deeper, and the pics also get shaky. (normal camera user counter this shake by using timer, hence, more camera now have 2 sec timer with addition to normal 10 sec)

yeah, the name card thingy is so cool! i'd say 95% reliable. i use it on all my friends with biz cards laugh.gif

wow..im suprise..after went out after +-3hours, suddenly this thread "panas2"...hoho...nway, i agree with u dude....

to ridox_orimabu - name me one smartphone (of course with touchscreen) with good comparable specs with this p1i with the same price?
everyone hv their own opinion...but do respect others...but importantly, do ur homework or research b4 start to bashing others... whistling.gif
e51 has its own weakness and strength so do p1i...if one a perfect phone...be an engineer and create one n publish it "the most and ultimate smartphone"
as for keyboard...my comment, after getting used to it, now i can type faster (although not as fast as on my old w810...but after getting use, sure ok maa)..but its qwerty dude...they design a compact qwerty layout in order to avoid bulky size...even the e51 do not come with qwerty..
enough say...thanx 4 making this thread "panas2"... tongue.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

to fallen_D
tgn u ketar2 ker?hehe...
nway u knew how to operate it..(but i dun encounter the prob u encounter...lucky me..haha tongue.gif )
the card thing really cool.. icon_rolleyes.gif

LMAO... a little advise, next time start out by calming your nerves and talk the way you are talking now instead of flaming on something 1st, so you at least have a little dignity left before you leave.

Classic example of "acting before thinking". (ok a lil off topic la, hehe my bad)

and Oh come on, the "rocker keys" is something very new (if im not mistaken) on any phone, OBVIOUSLY WITHOUT A DOUBT it must have some getting use too. People have been using the "one button only" keys throughout their entire phone lives, and of course will need some adapting to.
So dont blame the phone for your slow/deficit abilities to adapt to NEW stuff.

"stylus shud work on every corner of the smartphone platform"? i dont get you...

but i'll probably never get a reply from you...

i think by march the prices should drop again..

anyway, what this fella's problem la ? like la the phone robbed him of his money.
so far, he says that keypad useless and stylus useless

WHY DID U BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN ?!?!

didn't u test it out at the shop before buying it ? or u thought to yourself, "how hard can it be?" and found yourself to be incompetent with the keyboard.
There's a reason why SE implement this keyboard with their phone. obviously some research has been done before simply bringing out a model with a rocker key.

i think all of his dignity gone di.

and what fx_53_xt said is true.. find us another 1.3k phone that will do the job like the p1i.

btw, there's something i want to point out for those who are comparing the smoothness of WM and UIQ, keep in mind that most WM device is running on >400Mhz processor while SE UIQ is running on a mere 206Mhz processor.

that is 2 times difference.

and regarding the "Stylus everywhere" statement, i don really understand which part of P1i that cant be operated by touch screen?

and finally, before i purchased my P1i, i was thinking O2 exec/HTC touch/P1i, i gave up on similarly priced WM device because they lacked of physcical keypad

Actually why make me like the P1i is the keypad.
And my previous phone was M600i. laugh.gif
Once P1i came out, its already on my wish-list, and I promised myself that once the price came to 1.3k I will bought it.
And now, I'm living happily ever after with my P1i. biggrin.gif

Added on February 1, 2008, 5:20 pmi see nokia E series is much better than this piece of crap.

I have to say, the P1i is the second smartphone to have the dual-type qwerty keypad (the first one is the M600i tongue.gif) and Sony Ericsson did a very good in implementing the keypad onto the P1i and the M600i. Many people that bought the P1i is because of the keypad, it's very easy to use except if you use one hand to type. Since you said that you don't like the phone, than I guess you should stay away from UIQ3 and stick to WM devices.

If you want to say something bad about a product, do it nicely. What you just posted in this thread is really meaningless. You're just heating up the thread, you know.

You are a WM fanboy, and in this thread, we certainly don't need you. smile.gif

Cheers, mate.

oh dear ridox_orimabu, you just sound like u just buy a car without test drive it and by judging it by the outlook?
why would u wan to buy a car without test drive it and you expect it run on 200km/h which is it actually can up to only 160km/h?

and since at the 1st place u seem like dun like that phone already, and why the hell you still wan to get it? it just like u like a shirt which is actually available in S size but ur size it XL, and you're trying so hard to fit urself into it?
if you dun like it, leave it or sell it and get a better phone smile.gif

guys, just leave the WM fanboy alone. obviously he's just trying to get some attention here. i've actually bought M600i even w/o even trying its keypad. fall in love with the phone just with the pictures & reviews.

i admit that the QWERTY keypad is really hard to use @ first if u just moved from a normal phone but well, after one week of usage, i'm loving it. honestly. after been using it for almost a year, i can't even think of moving back to normal keypad phones again.

like Shufflerz, P1i has been the top gadget on my wish list since it's out. for a mere 1.3K, it offers the best package in a phone. and the best part is, i'm getting mine soon, very soon. joining the big & happy family. smile.gif

where did u get the news that the new P1i comes with GPS? AFAIK, it does not. if u want GPS to works with it u will need an external GPS receiver device such as Holux GPS,Garmin Mobile XT etc. not sure whether anyone actually tried & make it work though. smile.gif
