Due to too free, I've tested to flash my phone from HK to GW1 to test those fonts thingy, since nobody willing to give it a try.
And this is the outcome.

eh, the aqua one quite nice eh...too bad cannot support mandarin character

QUOTE(williamlee_1985 @ Feb 19 2008, 04:43 PM)
actually whats the difference between these firmwares?

GW, SG and HK?

hm.. 1st timer here
*
GW :
1) always get the latest firmware first
2) no chinese support
3) appears to be the less problem most of the time

SG :
1) Full Mandarin character reading and pinyin input
2) Lunar calendar
3) no white border on handwriting
4) slow handwriting recognization due to the ability of recognizing a phrase instead of a word
5) no anti-aliasing on fonts

HK :
1) Full mandarin character reading + pinyin/stroke input
2) Lunar calendar
3) no white border on handwriting
4) Slow handwriting recognization due to the ability of recognizing a phrase instead of a word
5) no anti-aliasing
6) File in phone's flash memory are in Mandarin

Hmm i did the instructions in the first page to flash to GW1, my phone's system information shows two different CDA, two different organizer (the old one plus the new one)... and under phone : there's something like prgCXC162037_CCPU_HE_LL_NI written after the initial numbers. Is it supposed to be like this?
*
it is suppose to be like that. that's what fooling SEUS into thinking u got GW1 CDA

i'm not sure about which file.
the way i did it is, i copy the files that i put inside memory stick previously into my pc (calendar backup, DCIM photo folder, musics etc) and then i format the memory stick and copy them back again.

after i notice the existence of this problem, i install all the application inside the phone's memory in which case i wont lose my shortcut arrangement even after i remove my memory stick

I had the same problem initially. But I formatted the memory stick and all is well. Removing the sis files is an easier way tho.
*
some of the sis files were made hidden inside some super long directory tat i didn't even see initially.

so i go the hardcore way, formatted the whole disk laugh.gif

Can't we just make those uninstall .sis files stop to pop out of no where when restarting the phone, or reinsert the memory?
Sometime when a fresh flash and need to restart phone very often the pop up of those installers are very annoying.

If you have had enough time, or extra time, view all hidden folders, and explore them 1 by 1.
Problem sure will solve this time. laugh.gif

most of the time i formatted the memory card before flashing it...

the only things that degrade with time is the chrome painting on the camera button
the rest are still as new.
considering i'm kinda rough user, i must says that this is one of the best built quality phone i've owned.

now i'm worried about the chrome painting bar that's covering the speaker. i'm worried it will end up like the camera button.

Everytime i selected a video, it started to stream.
But everytime 100% and already stop stream, and i pressed Play, and nothing happen after that.
I've tried both the Opera and BlackBerry Web, also came out with same outcome.
*
you tried to stream through wifi or 3G?

*
as a matter of fact, my phone has been receiving numerous amount of virus from nokia's phone through bluetooth. since symbian s60 and UIQ are not compatible and out of my naughty curiosity i accepted and launched them...tadaa....even virus is incompatible.

and that give me no reason to install antivirus cool.gif

hi..new p1i user here.

my p1i is flashed with the HK/74 CDA firmware. I wanna flash it to the GW1 firmware. I followed the guide posted at the first page step by step.

i managed to complete the XS++ part without any problems but when i try to update via SEUS, it keeps on giving me the msg "Identification failed! Disconnect phone and press Back to Start"

another thing i've noticed is that XS++ displays this message:

CODE

IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:P1 GDFS: P1i)
...using IMEI name

what should i do???
*
it seems like you have a corrupted registry within the ROM section regarding the phone's name
you still experiencing it now?

QUOTE(Shufflerz @ Feb 24 2008, 02:41 PM)
Use Swiss Manager lo.
But you have to dig it yourself as it need serial to register.
*
there's the non-pro swiss manager which is free and no serial number is required.
get the link on first page

some more questions:-

- izit possible to increase the volume during a call?

- and for the auto keylock, can i set a time b4 it locks?
*
1) scroll the jog wheel up or down to increase and decrease volume during a call
2) nope, there's no time setting for the auto keylock cry.gif

Wifi.
Home wifi with no whatever firewall or whatever blocking.
01. Yes. Roll the jog key all the way to the max. laugh.gif
02. No. It lock when the screen fade out. Maybe you can set your fade out time longer, which is going to consume more battery.
*
have u done the port forwarding trick?

Nop.
*
then its time to read your own signature laugh.gif
you need to do port forward on wifi router to enable the mobile youtube streaming

QUOTE(skullz) @ Feb 24 2008, 04:25 PM)
i'm trying to reinstall SEUS as suggested by Shufflerz..

is there any way to repair the registry within the ROM section?
*
do you backup the GDFS step when you first mess around with XS++?
if yes then digg out that backup file and restore back the GDFS section and retry the whole process.

meanwhile you should try to reinstall the SEUS first, just in case it is SEUS problem but IMHO there's very little chance that this has anything to do with SEUS

do you all always put ur phone in the leather case or just leave it like that? i put in in the case coz i'm a rough user to avoid scratch but at the same time quite troublesome to take the phone out and insert it back into the case..
*
i only put it inside pouch when i go out. at home i leave the phone on top of the pouch

btw, what recommended software to install for this phone? New to UIQ here  rclxub.gif
*
a few software that is a must for me is Handy clock, IM+, MS Dict, Swiss manager and opera mini.

i'm currently looking for a foc or...err...ahem scientific calculator for the p1i as sometime i forgot to bring my calculator out (which basically the physical size of the calculator is larger than my phone) then it would bcome handy to have one inside the phone.

anyone has it pm me please.

Can P1i support 4GB M2? Whole OS will lag or not?
*
yes it can.
lag part i'm not sure as i never tried before.

about flight mode, i turn my phone into flight mode when i took the air asia plane. then i heard the announcement ask the passenger to completely turn off the phone, do not leave them is airplane/flight mode etc.... air asia is so cheap that even a slight battery powered EM interference will crash the plane?

btw, the next software i'm looking is google maps.
i cant seems to get the latest version with location information to work on P1i
