"The human whose name is written in the Death Note shall die." A God of Death dropped a notebook which had the power to kill people. Light Yagami (Tatsuya Fujiwara) found the notebook and tried to become Kira, God of a new crime-free world by executing criminals with the notebook. L (Kenichi Matsuyama), a genius detective confronted Kira who was his toughest enemy ever. At last, L managed to close the case of Kira but had to pay a painful price, with his life. Now, with only 23 days to live, another serious case confronts L. A boy and a girl hold the keys to solving this case and L had to get into a desperate situation to protect the kids.

Ah! The famous Detective L is back to the big screen. I read about it on yesterday's newspaper and I thought it was pretty cool to know that there will be a spin off from Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name and focus on the character solely. This is awesome as I like the movies but what I like even more is the anime!

I think our TS is referring to the sequel to the film and not the anime.
In the second film (Death Note the Last name) , Light Yagami died and 'L' a.k.a Ryuzaki died too after 23 days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Note_(film) Second film QUOTE Death Note the Last name Me recently watched both films it on ASTRO The second film continues the events from the first movie, and uses plot elements from the Yotsuba arc as well as the series' ending. Light then manipulates the investigation towards Misa, forcing Rem to kill L and Watari. As L is dying, Light admits to him that he is Kira. However, it is revealed later that L faked his death. L had already written his own name in Misa's Death Note (replacing the Note with a fake copy), setting his death for the maximum of 23 days, thus overriding Rem's Death Note. The investigation team surrounds Light, shooting him when he attempts to write on the hidden piece of Death Note in his watch. In a final gambit, Light asks Ryuk to kill the investigation team, but Ryuk writes down Light's name instead. Light dies in his father's arms. L obtains possession of both the Death Notes and burns them. Twenty days later, he dies a peaceful death after being congratulated by Soichiro. 2 be honest.. for those who didn't watch 1 n 2.. they will get confused in this story... is a really 2 hour show which very worth it for me.. this story is focus on the last 23 days of his activities before he die .. as a dectective.. the story line is great.. very understandable if watch 1 n 2... the gurls are so cute .... the director really choose the cute cute wan.. especially the kid... she so cute.. ( i'm not pedophile k ) ... yea.. the dieing part of some characther.. is very realistic but at the same time a bit 2 much.. ( overall still amazed wif how they die ) L shows his positive side towards the kids which is caring .. very caring.. he also do some humourous things too.. c it 2 noe it.. the negative part of this movie is.. is nothing about death note 3.. u wont c that 2 shinigami flying around eating apple... onli come out once oni ... very short clip.. and ... if those that watch it.. .u might notice... die already still can alive back ... the one who die d and the end scene got his back view.. farney yet amazing.. nice ! |

1. good example on the usage of "japlish", yea L spoke english in horrendous ways, what made it worse was he acted cool whilst doing it 2. bad acting, ok, all but the lil' gal 3. a not-so-smart L, c'mon fans of the manga will tell L is way better than that... 4. bad and draggy storyline, an hour into the movie, I was already wishing the movie ended fast! |

For me... its a good movie if standalone... thats if its not a Death Note...
Death Note is all about the Genius outwit the Genius... In this movie... the puzzle is hard but simple... in the end L doesnt really use much of his brain... All the answer from the other character and notice of the enviroment(cautious sense ?)... |

I think this Movie is about 23 days before L died. On 23rd day itself Kira not yet capture or die and maybe the battle with Yagami continue for 3-4days. Then it ends.
This movie started off by 18 days left (couldn't remember but i think so). This means that he had solved the Kira case already then he was left with 18 days to live. He finished up a pile of unsolved case and this virus case is one of the case. Sense something bout this boy, i knew he must be either Mello or Near b4 L send him to Genius school. But of course they nv follow comic book story line la.. Anyway, this movie sucks a lot. Lame and low budget i would say. Of course there is a light moment with L which is nice. Anyway, this movie is made to ripped money by L. Try taking out L character and replace with some unknown genius. This movie will be totally unwatchable.
