Hi all,
I had a small lump on one side of my labia last year but it bleeded and disappear after a while. Lately, I am having another lump on my labia but this time it's harder and bigger. It hasn't disturb me yet but it's a little painful if I press on it. I search the net up and found out that this lump is call a Bartholin's cyst and could be infected by infections and turn into abscess. The lump seems to be getting bigger and harder and I'm really worried about it. I would like to know if anyone has ever experience this and what will the docs recommend to cure it. I have read on the internet that an operation to remove the lump might be needed if it's really bad. Also, I would like to know if this has anything to do with being sexually active and what is the cause of this.

Advices are much welcome. icon_question.gif

I'm planning to visit a doctor. However, I haven't reach 18 yet and parents consent is needed if I visit a gyne, I think. Haven't got the courage to tell mom and dad yet.

hey babe,

i always look it up on the internet whenever there's anything wrong with me and recently, i got a painful lump on my lips, itchy and swollen. i thought i got bitten by a mosquito (which is not likely) and i did a lil research on the net. from insect bite, to cold sore to cyst. it did scare the hell out of me. eventually, i visited the dr and the dr confirmed, it was an insect bite and it was nothing serious.

so, the best thing for u to do is to visit the dr. dont scare yourself with what you found on the internet. it might not be as serious as you think it is.

go get it checked, seriously.
a cyst usually happens by chance, theres no real determining factor about why it happens. problem is, if you get it once, chances are is you might have another one later on in life.
