Kinda thinking of this quite long
BUT when i watched SPEED movie last night, i'm thinking of starting a thread about this
Did you guys realise that most of American hero's name in TV Series or Movie named JACK?
For example, in SPEED, Keanu Reeves character named JACK TRAVEN
then, i remember one of my fav TV Series which is 24, also JACK, Jack Bauer
then i thought about LOST, also JACK, Jack Shephard
in Men in Trees, also JACK, Jack Slattery
Where else got JACK for their HERO's OR Main Character's name:

The discussion is, why JACK?
Is it because of the simple name? Why not JOHN? DAVID? Or else?
May be we can find a reasonable statement why they are using JACK instead of other names?
