My little share from my humble S5is for today's photogs gathering. lol.
  Welcome to Zoo Negara.  At the entrance of zoo before entering.  Viking guiding albnok/Albert on his 40D.   albnok/Albert in action with his "bazooka" lens. (Tamron 200-400mm)  Guess how much they cost?  W.Jie playing with Viking's 40D super cam.  My parrot!  Caught in action! More pics to come up soon. I'm too exhausted now, plus my photobucket's having some problem. Will upload em' all here soon after my nap! C&C welcomed. =] Anyway, great outing once again!  |

Thanks everyone for coming and helping out. Really appreciated it. Some came late, but ya i appreciate that they came.
There were some hiccups (ops, one of it was my car broke down, thanks to myjunk for fetching me & matt) But without you guys & gals the event won't be so successful. I'm looking forward for the up coming event, which is model shooting :-) |

lol. I'm on ISO100 all the time cause noise will be visible in S5 if the ISO is higher than 100. Aperture mostly on 2.7 when shooting wildlife to produce bokeh behind and 8.0 on shooting sceneries and group shots. Shuttle speed wise it depends on the lightning, but mostly more than 1/60 because of the movement for the wildlifes. It's to freeze their movements. That's for me, but only a lil prosumer cam.

no colored shots meh? nice shots but sad no color la. you plan B&W series for a colorful place. oh another thing, i suggest your pictures cropped to the usual 4:3 or 3:2 sizes la if possible. nicer to look at also, looks more complete. |

@fcbarcelona-my, other than the picture size i think more people should do what you did. in what sense? since it's a GATHERING.
a portion of the shots should also portray how it was like at / during the course of the outing and what other things are seen. *still wishes for color* are your shots ugly in color? if yes then i understand the B&W la. next time if we meet, let's cover the participants lah. Yeah, was it the cheetah or puma? I thought the cheetah was named Manja also, and there were 2 workers sitting right in front of the guarding the cheetah's cage, wondering is it is the one who bit the lil girl? lol.

i tried to use lowest aperture according to my zoom range to get nice background bokeh. Plus my 70-300mm is an old lens and the picture sometime not sharp enough at 300mm.

F2.8 is too obvious and heavy, F4 makes you invisible. Mine does, too. For the record I wasn't poisoned by the F2.8. Too heavy, as a F4 does the job for me. barcelona: From what I read, shooting in colour better than in BW and PP it to BW better than in-camera BW cos of "something" i forgot. weilongz' shot of the birdbird really cool!! Too many things want to comment but since just woke up (7+am) had to go through _A_ lot of post before I reach the finish.. Cutie: I also a bit like you. High maintenance, too bad it's all using my own money. When you get/find a husband, then you can poke the 'atm' to get your new lenses. Also, based on what you said, seems like your best bet is to go more outing and hook somewhere there with your 'barang' csrules : See... a prosumer is sometimes even better than using a DSLR. everything has a place. Like me, I went there with only a 50mm prime and those shots of the lion etc which they are hiding inside, inside the cages, I can only shout 'let's move on.. nothing to shoot here!!' I must say again, where's that DUDE with the 55-250mm IS lens?? I really missed him (lens) My wish list man.. |

Vincent_audio : Yeah the panther was at the cage very very far away from the visitors, you guys thought that it was a bear at the first glance. lol. I think this black panther was supposed to be at Manja's enclosure before he bit the little girl. They switches the cage once the incident happens. I think so la, lol.

I think there is another leopard (black). I remember the zoo staff near Manja cage talking something about mating Manja with the black one, but the black leopard is too old to do his duty. Anyway, we didn't shot the black leopard bcoz he was at animal clinic yesterday.. |

my macro shoot using nikkor micro 200mm f4 prime lens.
no tripod just handheld . have to keep shutter speed 1/200 and above. cannot play much with aperture.ISO already @ 400-800. no cropping. caterpillar    i'm ready to fire your lens if u come more closer  hornetEJ. the first one is spider and second is caterpillar i think |

Hi Vincent,
Yeah my flickr account got more than 12K of contacts.I was the few first person who breach the 10K contacts and eventually Flickr want to ban us unless we reduce the contacts .I dont feel my photos was quite warm until i see it with another monitor.Most probably the WB that i use that cause it to be a bit warm. By the way, all your photos are nice... |

btw, to albnok and vincent. that day at zoo, u said my 70300vr got prob, right? i found out wat happen liao. is my lousy UV filter, it doesnt screw in properly, a bit senget. (dono my lens tread or filter tread got prob) after i took off the filter, the image dam sharp!!! wasted shots on zoo T_T |

model shoot today ? no lar... not so soon ler... will try to get 4 models. We will need to limit photographers to 5 photog / model... which roughly 20 photog. Anything more than that is abit hard for the model to handle. You will have very little eye contact and little time to get her to post for u.

 I love the texture! Looks like an artsily painted wall. This is a 100% crop...  This too.  Crop of a more uh, normal-looking picture. 95mm F4 from the same, sharp lens. Is vikingw2k's L lens a 70-200mm F4 L IS USM lens? or a 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens? Wanna know how much does each of these lens cost.. can some one please enlighten me? i know it cost more than a dslr but i still wanna know exactly how much...
