im not usre how good ure sonic gear is.. but the pioner is a budget system but reviews say they give good performance for its price

i bought mine rm159 only at all it it's 5.1 speaker but the bass is very weak...

if im not mistaken the system i bought costed $450 retail when it was released. somehow it has gone deep down in price...

I'm using Altec Lansing VS 4121 for nearly two years now. Still working well for me and I love its sound quality.

hehe yeah, when it was released it was really pricey. reviewers say it's worth the price at $400, but now the price has gone down to $100, i dont know why. is it not good enough?

its good actually. maybe the way its designed/promoted, only ppl with 360 will buy it hehehe

the other reason is maybe the set doesn't come with a disc player as most low end mini-ht

the design of ur speakers are the same that im using, only its Marantz, those wood finish type...

whats your setup? your amp?

i use the optical cable (comes with the console) to connect the console to the (mini) amp

i, too am going to use optical cable with my new speaker set.

@jackal: to get surround sound your only options are optical or hdmi. if you have an amp with an optical input, you are all set...
