I'm running a 2.8Ghz imac....1st time mac user and I'll try to share some of my experience so far (~1month)

1) p2p - aplenty (ie transmission,azureus,limewire..and so on)
2) imac can probably run 24/7 but be aware of the temperature...it can get really hot (top left, back). GPU/CPU temps are normally around 50-60++ celcius. Gaming can heat things up fast (I tried C&C3, Dota, CIV4, Homm5 to name a few)
3) boot up & shutdown time are relatively very fast, the latter being much faster. (30sec vs 10 sec roughly). No audible operating noise.
4) try parallel 3.0 with XP. You can run in coherence mode...basically u can dock Win app shortcut into the mac dock. file sharing btwn leopard and XP? so far no problem for me. Get yourself 4GB ram...they're so cheap nowadays (RM~300)

One other thing...
People sometimes bring up screen issues with the new aluminium imacs. I didnt notice problems with mine during the first 2 days. Thanks to some online forums, I now see it clearly. Infact, I cannot help but see it whenever the imac boots up. Ignorance was such bliss....
Here's an example in front row. hxxp://www.flickr.com/photos/skywalker/2175113824/ (UNEVEN BACKLIGHTING)
On a solid background, I can see some color gradient. I often read that some people got themselves really good screen though....so make sure you test the screen before purchase. Bear also in mind that in real world applications, I do not see these 'defects/features' adversely affecting my daily use (incl photography).

Best of luck and hope this helps smile.gif
