I've been looking at the three subforums lately, and I happen to notice that,
Sony has a much more active community as compared to Microsoft (eventhough there's a lot of topics) and Nintendo.
I'm the kind of person who gets a console if there's a lot of hoo-haas and there's a extremely friendly community so that I can play along with peoples.
Is it wise to do so?

Im being neutral here ... active does not always means good. Well .. the choice is always yours to choose. If u like games like MGS4 and FF series then go for PS3. If u like GOW and Halo 3 series with Xbox Live enable then go for Xbox360. I dunno much about the Wii.

i realized that a long time ago ....trust me i have been to several forums...and nearly always the Sony forums has several people inside it...while the Wii usually has far fewer (no offense)....take note that some people dont bother to look at forums mainly because they are new to the world of gaming or they are to scared to meet with new people. But if you want to know something...i have been to all the gaming forums here. All full of good people, there are occasionally some guys who troll around about the consoles but most of the time the guys of each forum is helpful and kind. Im not trying to influence you to get a 360 or PS3...but i can tell as an owner of both....you will not be disappointed by either.

I based my judgment usually by which console having the most Editor's choice for their game review and also if the game I want is on that console...only after that will I go to the community.

sheep, stick with us nintendites lah..hehehe...
as a 360 user, our Live community here is really friendly. Troll the subforums, ask them to invite u for a game, just be there when they are playing surely u will get invited (dun forget to add them though..)

Nice observation there mate The PS community is the most friendly......."I'm just being neutral here" also

I dunno. I dont own all the consoles. I just own a Wii. But to me. The Wii is really hard to invite friends for games. The dreaded friend codes. I dont mind it being console specific. But game specific? Come on. That is ridiculous.

it's simple.they go the most to which side they own. eg. me myself.. at first i'm only at playstation subforum.never bother to open xbox or nintendo... but after i got my x360, i did go to xbox subforum frequently.since i have no nintendo(only gba)..so i think no need for me to go there.
