u sound like another ah beng la...

people buy car, did they consider what engin their use?

shd be use budget, and what kind of purpose for the car. leisure? dairly use?

a big car, a medium car, or a small car...

no point asking around it ur budget did not allow you to do so.
*
be careful who you are calling an ah beng

i am asking what engine not for power
rather for quality and performance
dont want to be stuck with sum crap like what we are getting in the new protons these days

so if you want to state your opinion about people of whom you have no idea on their backgrounds or interests, i suggest you take it somewhere else
just fyi, there actually are people who are more interested about technical info because they understand engines and the workings of such machines....and are not just looking for a ride that can be pimped out for the sheer sake of showing off
...which is apparently d 1st thing that comes to your mind
...which doesnt reflect very well on you your kind self whistling.gif

if neosaint99 looking for the most accurate answer...
myvi 1.3 engine = avanza 1.3 engine...

http://www.nbt-brunei.com/cars/avanza/spec.asp
http://paultan.org/archives/2005/05/20/per...ions-and-price/

maybe later someone sure will say: "Well done, myvi use toyota engine... prrthhhhhhhh"
*
so,...erm,...is it an actual toyota engine or is it a toyota derivative?
where is the engine manufactured & assembled?
thanks for the help guys biggrin.gif

hmm...wonder what happened to vin_ann whistling.gif

handling?..quite good for standard car...standard myvi with bridgestone my01 195/50/r15...no screeching on the tyre...
*
screeching tyres?!
wth?!...wat u doing lar?...dragging ar... rclxub.gif
even hard acceleration n driving not supose to have tyre slip unless its on gravel or u r using those cheapo hard compound thailand tyres with v little grip shocking.gif

tonite wanna try some drift with myvi... brows.gif
*
the myvi is top heavy
drifting cars r usually the low types
i would advise against drifting with a myvi
the risk of loosing control is much greater
(not to mention its a front wheel drive car...if u loose control, regaining control by using the engine is harder to achieve than with a rwd) unsure.gif

Shouldn't drive that fast at jalan kampung. Dangerous if some kids or cows cross the road suddenly.
*
ya...certain places if u hit a chicken n u stop, the ppl there will gang up on u n force u to pay some rediculous sum like 500bucks or sumthing
if hit a kid or a cow,...for your own safety, better u dont even stop
drive to the nearest police station n make a report there

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timing_belt

every parts that involved wear and tear issues for sure need to change, just that metal made longer lasting that rubber made... maybe it may last for 200k km but depend on luck...
*
steel belt?
u mean timing chain izit?
if timing chain, no need to change
u drive 30 years until the car fall apart oso will still be ok wan
(personal experience)

David: I see. Still haven't do any transfer of ownership?

No sir, probably juz continue with the installments as it's a close friend's car... Put my name in the car insurance only lo... I'm not the car owner but the car driver...
*
still advised to transfer ownership
its not expensive and neither is it much of a hassle
if u go there personally, same day can get it done
no matter how close a friend is, these kind of things shouldnt be left to chance
for things like this, blood is the only thing one can trust nod.gif

just my two cents innocent.gif
