i am looking for a console....jz need everybody suggestion..which should i go for and what it the cost ?? i have a budget no more than 1.3k.....

one for home..n one for on the go...but PS2 is dying out...and games are harder to find now (the old great ones). One PSP or DS is enough I guess

Speaking of console...I dunno if u can get a jap wii with that price now or not...when I was buying it, I got it for RM980 with one ctrller, a nunchuck and one ori game. Do some survey for the price

I state that based on my own experience. I have a PS2 too (but back in 2003) and my niece n nephew just bought one too (end of 2007). I try n find for them some nice games like the old FFX, KH and also some RPG (their main interest), not many shops are carrying them rite now.

Even MGS and other hits are also hard to find. Of course there are still shops that are selling em but like I said...not that easier to find.

U can go ahead n buy the PS2 but the best games of yesteryear are harder to find nowadays. If u can get it from the web like ebay or playasia...then it's good .

PS2 got many great hits...eh...why am I talking about PS2 only...the old XBOX is great too. Try and seek these old hard hitter of yesteryear if u still want an affordable console for the TV.

hahaha my psp is collecting dust now. Not much killer games available compare to DS.My 2 cents, better save up and get xbox360 coz u can play ahem games. Wait til ps3 got modded & the price for blue ray drop, then sell of ur xbox 360 n then only get ps3.

I like my fps on the DS (Dementium, Call of Duty 4, Metroid Prime Hunters and Brothers In Arms) since the ctrl and aiming is easy.
for RPG gamers on the go, DS got plenty (Zelda, Final Fantasy series, Mana series)
other games include rhythm games (Elite Beat Agents), simulation game (Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Room 215 etc)
If u dun like those, then those u will consider not attractive games. It's simple enuff.

for me, i have been contemplating between PS3 and Wii (sorry, Xbox360 not mu cuppa).

PS3 comes in as favourite partly coz of its pricing and can double up as BluRay player. but i dun quite like the controller. i have problem with hand-eye co-ordination. i have ps2 and most games, i play halfway and get stuck. most of the time, i get stuck during certain stage where hand-eye co-ordination is a requirement. example, with God of War 1, I got stuck during the part where i had to walk on platform with blades swinging around. spend more than 2 hours on it and cannot pass, stopped playing. ya, i am very casual gamer.

Wii... I dun like is the local pricing. at usd250 and conversion rate of say 3.3, it should not cost more than rm1000, but currently it costs like rm1400-rm1500. otherwise, i think i have better luck and enjoyment using the wiimote. Besides the price, one other turn off is the processor... How long is Wii expected to last before a new replacement with better hardware specs come out?

Lately, i read that PS3 developing new controllers similar to Wii. Any truth in this? I mean I dun expect the same classic controller with motion sensor (then i'm back to same problem). Can't drive car with keypads, etc...

The way I look at it, if Sony does come out with a new controller similar to Wiimote for PS3, I think PS3 would be great. Of coz the other issue I would have is -- no modchips. It can probably last me 5 years or so. The way I see Wii, hard to see the hardware specs lasting another 3 years...

Buy the console which got the game u want or like to play most..... for me, example few years ago i like to play FF7, Winning Eleven and Tekken then i bought PS and PS2. How about the next Gen Console, now i doesn't really care about blu-ray or HD-dvd, i m just want the game, which console got the game i like most, then i will go for it, if i got only 1 console to choose.

for my opinion, i would prefer Blue-ray where is the cheapest player in town compare to Samsung, Sony or etc

and i can play games and transfer my movies to PS3 hehe
