Hi, i would like to have a silent system... currently using 3.0Ghz Prescott P4 processor...
I'm thinking of getting those WC Kit which is less than rm300, but i've got to know from previous topic whereby it is not as good as it claim.
Can some sifu advice, which 1 should i go for? WC Kit or air cooling cpu fan? Please let me know which brand to get as well.
Thanks in advance.

get AC freezer 7 around rm110..good aftermarket cooler and it is silent. if want to go for water cooling you need to spend much money...go for air cooling better since your budget not much..but you post in wrong section ..should be in hardware Q n A section

I'd go fanless air-cooling.

Fanless air cooling is great but the one i bought had a heatsink too big for my casing!!

Cheap water cooling is not the way to go!!

Go for a after market HSF which has the fan control let you choose lower fan speed, for silent.

Example, Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Just curious, can the Artic Cooling Freezer 7/64 pro fan being control to lower down the speed?

u wanna control the fan for wat??? the fan is already damn silent even at its full speed (which isnt much).

seriously....silence = AC Freezer 7/64 Pro

previously i use Scythe Ninja, running fanless. damn nice.

too bad now it can't fit P35 boards. so I'm using S-963 with fan speed lowered to a minimal, almost no noise or at least covered by other noise but provide decent air-flow to cool the processor.

Hmmm, I had compared the noise level with the tuniq tower 120, seems like the noise level for Arctic was double the noise of the tuniq.
But still concern about the weight of the tuniq tower.... will it break the AM2 mobo?? sweat.gif

if it will break the mobo, it won't be on sale in the first place. smile.gif

as for the noise level, you can always connect the fan to a fan controller (rheostat like device) to adjust the RPM to an acceptable noise-level.

all the 120mm fans and the 92mm fan on heatsink of my machine are connected to fan controller. i spent some time testing out the RPM combo for the exhaust and the heatsink fan to achieve acceptable minimal noise level while not sacrificing air-flow / cooling ability.

Cool, you must be doing a lots of testing around rclxms.gif

Thanks for clearing my doubt, I guess will proceed to the Tuniq tower 120 as it came with the fan controller. Thanks again notworthy.gif

bro, would i really need to apply additional thermal compound with ACF7, from the product spec it seems that the heatsink already have a coated MX1 compound?
