i just bought d40 for rm2k at nikon year end sale promotion. at bukit bintang area. unfortunately, i discover, most of other store (also in bb area), sell it around rm1.8k. why is it happen? and d40x only rm2.2, but in the sale, it sell rm2.5k. is it any recon set out there?

you bought it cash or installment?
normally if you buy it cash only they'll give you the 1.8k price.
if not, then its 2088 like that.

usually those nikon fair, the freebies are already charged into the price.
if you take some freebies out, then about the same.

usually i would recommend friends to go to a few well known shops.
buy the body and choose other lenses.
but of coz d40/x must buy with kit lense.

the memory cards.....well if you r going for performance....probably u end up getting ur own Sandisk Ultras / Xtremes or Kingston or Lexars etc etc.

then you start to look at better tripods
better carry bags
then flash
other accessories

then might as well when u wanna buy a camera, go direct to shops which r well known....
they can give u options...advice.....

some shops i notice, esp Sungai Wang / BB Plaza / Low Yat, they r just retailers...their mind set is sell sell sell....

good shops....they'll advice u......

yes got grey set on the market. but mostly they will sell to u if u ask for it. but only certain shop u can find this grey unit.

Buy from Japan is cheaper . At kakaku D40 is rm1377 with kit lens and rm1990 with zoom lens. I do not understand japanese much but based on pictures it looks like it.

heard they throw in bag, 2gb sd card, tripod and usual stuffs
