Is a import permit (AP) required to bring in a HTC TYTN II from overseas?

If I have not mistaken, PDAs will not be taxed but phones will be taxed 10%
But what about the import permit?

I heard of cases that blackberry(s) were being held by customs and the buyer had to pay RM215 (AP) +10% tax sweat.gif

Anyone here had this experience before?
