Nothing. If I'm not mistaken, in Malaysia IMEI number mostly for original phone to cover it's warranty. This is because even we lost our phone, the telco can't lock our phone up using the IMEI number. Malaysia has yet to have that.

I might be wrong but I feel the IMEI number has nothing much to do except you can remember all the number and can identify the phone in case your phone gone some days.
