I am very curious why the memory space has been included into the graphic card. Why do we have 512MB and 128MB. And what is DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3?? This questions are keep puzzling in my mind for many years and never get a clear answer . Many of my peers told me that the most expensive one is the best . I find this answer a bit lame. So can anyone tell me how to choose a good graphic card?

256mb ,512mb is like ur ram.....am of GC card....LOL...DDR max 533mh, DDR2 is 667mhz/800mhz, DDR3 1066mhz..more mhz mans process data more speed.....so Each Great GC price sure higher

first u need to know wat u want first and u want it for wat.

the DDR1 ,2 ,3,4 is the same as the system RAM, but the graphic card is running on it's own RAM aka graphic memory, thus it share less system RAM.

it's a fact that the more expensive the better, but sometimes the case r just different like the 8800GT which r cheap and perform able to par with high-end card

when choosing a graphic card, u hv to know ur budget first, so u can choose the one that most suit u within ur budget range

we will have to know what screen size this guy is using too...

oh i see, but i have two different graphic cards here which i need more clarification. the first one is winfast px 8600 gt 256mb d3 256bit which cost rm700. the second one is gigabyte 8600 gt 512 ddr2 which is only rm400. i wonder why winfast is far more expensive then gigabyte? gigabyte has more memory capacity than winfast. i think it should be more expensive.

-Asus 8600GT 256mb ddr3 RM400 in Pc Zone
-Asus 2600XT 256mb ddr3 RM395 in Pc Zone

8600gt can serve u well...
but i'm still using my old dx9 card...

8600gt cost arround RM410..dis model got 1.0ns memory (cap colorful)..
it means can oc d mem kaw kaw...
or "IF" u can up ur budget to RM485, u can get d 8600gts...oso come with 1.0ns...

RM500?it's a good budget adi.

If u like Nvidia which for gaming purpose,get sort of 8600GTS.

If u like ATI which prefer to graphics,go for HIS 2600XT Turbo 512mb.

so u mean nvidia is specialy designed for gaming??

u need to see whether it is DDR3 or DDR2 first, DDR3 provide more bandwidth compare to DDR2, even it is only 256mb DDR3 but it is faster than 512MB DDR2....

Both Nvidia and ATI is desinged for gaming.
but nowadays, all game support nvidia one...just take Crysis as an example.

FOr RM500,get Sapphire X1950GT off cycom for RM430,faster than 2600XT and 8600GT.

RM500 is not really worth the investment now... don go for DDR4 GC unless it's 3870... really really waste money... i cry bout it for a week d... juz get urself the cheapest 8600GT can d cuz it runs crysis in medium at acceptable enough framerate...
