I'm building a new rig for around RM3800 which i will be using for gaming, animations and graphic designs. I was wondering which of this two quad core processor is better, Intel C2Q Q6600 (2.4Ghz) or AMD Phenom AM2+ 9600 (2.3Ghz)?

Seems so.It's very sad really even after AMD took so long to come out with something that couldn't even beat intel's.

C2D Q6600 cache is better 8M compare to AMD phenom 9600+ cache is 2M...What is Cache?..cache is processor process speed...more cache more fast....
C2D Q6600 FSB is 1066 and AMD phenom 9600+ FSB is 3600...what is FSB? FSB is Input data and Output data speed to mobo.....is like a Highway between proc to mobo
For me gamer choose FSB higher better....no matter how good is ur cache...without good FSB...ur processor also cannot deliver output wih faster speed...

Phenom is short lived, even MCM chips easily pawned Phenom, more over, 9600 has TLB errata, even Windows still run, and working, but it is an expensive errata,
get Intel C2Q
