hmmmm I gotta check what region is mine first, so far I only saw two players in the lobby but dunno how the heck to contact them. Other than that nothing
all rooms empty. got english speaking, korean speaking, and something else. dun belittle this game just because it is older than the others, it is a real solid launch title and I still had fun playing it This game still extremely awesome to the newcomers to ps3. I made the purchase on the PSN and I can't seem to race on them -- they appear as faded on the Time Attack screen -- I have the asian version of motorstorm patched to 3.1. Anyone have a work around?

Coz Motorstorm can only be played depending on your region... For example, Asian game can only play with Asian server online... Therefore it doesnt work... Urs is Asian game, and u bought from US Store... So... U gota get Asian Store ID and buy again... Or get a US game...

Thats really stupid of Sony, I wish they put a disclaimer. I guess I wasted $3 oh well. Doesn't everyone just download from the US PSN anyway? The other stores (besides the JPN PSN) are severely lacking in content.

online play for asia was pretty disappointing for me at least. I only saw TWO players the last time I checked online.
I never had an online match before which kinda sucks since it's the original. |

well how is the connection quality to US servers ? From my experience from other games latency to US is pretty bad. Very bad. That's why I always look for asian servers.

Tested the demo, IMHO, gameplay quite the same as the first one, the monster truck crazy but a bit hard to control (easily roll over even when hitting the guy on a bike
)....Graphic... photorealistic environment but the vehicles are poorly modeled  , they just look like floating...... even worst, i thought they hv implemented the destruction of the environment, but i'm wrong For me this is quite a let down, maybe i'm hoping too much for this sequel.. Maybe i'll get it second hand..... |

Yesterday tried the game.
Hmmm this is my first time play MotorStorm. Hmmm for me i think the environment is quite good. But like what neoardi said, the vehicles is poorly modeled. When i try to use the bike, is like floating... Not bad but hmmm this game just for some joy only. |

Sorely dissapointed on this one. It just doesn't feel as intense as the first Motorstorm. The races just feels..... meh.
Sure the presentation of the game has improved quite a bit, but one thing that is sorely not improved is teh gameplay. Just felt like playing Motorstorm 1.5 instead of 2. |

I've only managed to play online properly once. Last night spend 1+ hour just waiting to connect to server many many times and when I do get connected the server boots me few seconds after the race starts. Is it because I have R3?

This game is so fun even playing SINGLE PLAYER
u will laugh by urself when u crash into it as its just so much fun... i would say the fun lvl is even nicer than NFS / MIDNIGHT CLUB although is different type but its still racing got this game and never felt regret... if play multiplayer... fooiyoh... tak payah cakap lagi dee... ^^ even better~!!! just too bad not many ppl try it... definately worth RM180 ^^ This post has been edited by X.SAN: Dec 9 2008, 08:39 AM |

Woohoo ! Definitely one of the best racing titles I have ever played...
The graphics are stunning... the water splash, the mud, those giant trucks, the foliage... The sounds are... loud, with metal music and hard rock in the background... The gameplay is... solid and fun. However, racing with a bike - - can't race in deep water! The fun factor is... absolute fun ^ 2 My favorite moments is when I jump off the ramp and fly into the distance... preparing for a disastrous landing... and when I nail the landing... phew! 9.0/10 *A must-buy title for off-road racing fans. And its PS3-exclusive! |

This is probably the No. 1 underrated game of 2008. They picked the wrong map for the demo version and most people are blown away when they play the full version. You also read about people admitting that they play MSPR more than LBP (gosh!)

Favorite Tracks : The Edge... and the the place where there is a lot of rocks before the finish line...
... loving this game ! The coolest part is how the car / bike reacts to the surrounding. I once already 'almost' going to be reset because I was falling to the side of the bridge... but the hard rock surface underneath the bridge hit my bike and it pushed me up to the bridge again... one of the best moments.. |

no kidding, i downloaded the demo and played it with my friend and wife for 5 hour, is only one track and 3 vehicle to choose, but gosh, it still hook me than any other racing games.
The unpredictable clash which made my wife scream like hell, the non oriented track which create lot of creativity to manipulate your route and the non stop speed action especially when boosting and knocking off the other is just awesome, not to mention the best graphic i ever see after UDF. If anyone gives me a game invite, please do it 2 or 3 time instead of just once. The game usually gives me error message when I try to join someone the first time and I can't find you after that.

i don't quite und' this part of the manual/setting:

If you see fast reset and cars ghosting past you its due to lag (nobody is cheating online).
You can change region in game and play on any region servers. |

iv tried the online play a couple of times and find theres no lag at all, playing wit a r3 version, was really smooth, maybe at certain time of the day it lags.

didnt know there was a pacific rift thread here. i was actively playing it for quite a while just a few weeks back. seems to me the rank matches are dominated by hero n legend rank players or mayb it's just sucky automatching. with so many hardcore players being matched with a grunt n rookie racer like myself, there's no way i can hope to get the 3 ranked wins in a row trophie

i play the ps2 version. controls, even better than PS3 version. vehicles feel more responsive. graphics are good for a ps2 game. my only problem is the emo soundtrack.

Snipersnake: Hmmm.. I thought Motorstorm 2: Pacific Rift has better control respon than the original motorstorm. The graphics are crazy man. Btw i am running the game on a 4:3 SD Tv.. No problem so far ar.
