im gonna get dvdrw rom tomorrow
i need some recommendation on which brand of dvdrw rom is the best?

I'm using Pioneer and it's great! Not as noisy as Lite-On and very stable. Suggest you to get the SATA type if possible. More stable and doesn't clutter the inside of your CPU too much compared to IDE

Liteon is ok lah, very noisy while burning disc, but who cares as long as the disc burnt has no problem.

Use ASUS for quietness if you get the QuiteTrack range but they may cost a bit more. I prefer LG although I tried ASUS.

samsung? not really recommend.. coz samsung not really "stable"... Mine giving many troubles... My friend's samsung having problems too... Actually LG and Pioneer both quite good...

SATA type?? I think I encountered some burning problem using SATA type leh... the whole DVD cannot be read on my DVD player after using that SATA type DVD-ROM leh.... Btw, I change to IDE and it's LG....(Damn gao noisy)

I would say Pioneer or LG.

NEVER choose Samsung. Both my DVD-R and normal DVD rom were Samsung. Horrible.

20X is just slightly faster, but not much difference. most DVDs on the market, their maximum burn speed is usually around 16X only anyway
