Hi Guys,

I have taken 4 hours to figure out what happen to my PC, since last 2 months I have not running a dvd rom, floppy disk and a backup hardisk, it works fine. But problem now is that my windows got blue screen, i need to reinstall windows, when ever I try to plug in dvd rom, the pc keep restart, when it is running only 1 harddisk, it's okay.

What could be the cause, is it power supply? But it seem okay all the while. Please advise.

Spec:
Mobo: MSI 865PE-v2
Ram: Twinmos 512MB
Power Supply: powerlogic 300W
hardisk: SATA samsung 7200rpm 80gb

it might be your PSU, get your PSU, use it to other PC system see if same thing happened to your previous PC system (yours...)

Thanks, problem is that I dont have another PC System to test. Hmm..wondering is it under power or the PSU spoilt. If that the case, I will rather get a new one. Any idea?

i think it's your PSU, why?
you stated that you're not using other HDD and ODD, once you plugged in all that, BSOD (sign of not enough power or instability power supply due to too many hardwares), for instance... get a cheap PSU but with higher wattage just to confirm, it's PSU related problem...

oops.gif, btw... have you try each drive? sometimes, damaged HDD/ODD could lead to BSOD too icon_idea.gif

look through what you had post, it might be the PSU problem. however, also maybe others hardware problem.

if can, just borrow any PSU (which work in good condition, and have enough power) and try to power up your pc. If your pc can run without any problem, then it's your PSU is too old already, or else you have to test part by part of your pc hardware.
