I saw somewhere a simple DIY project for our lovely FZ20 and I thought to myself, how hard can it be?

So here it is:

Components:
1 x nokia handsfree
1 x 2000 ohm resistor
1 x 2700 ohm resistor
1 x 36000 ohm resistor (or 2 x 18000 ohm resistor)
2 x one press push button (where to find a push button that operates like the camera button?)
Total cost:RM14.60




Follow the following circuit:



and connect all the components together:

and you have a Panasonic Lumix FZ20 Remote Shutter Release, all done within 1 hour for RM14.60.

note: this DIY is electrically equivalent to the original Panasonic DMW-RS1 Remote Shutter Release.

Ai, just noticed , kelvinyam is using Canon S3IS , not Fujifilm S3 Pro .

So, if you want a remote shutter release, you will need to find a way to tap usb communication signals from computer to camera for shutter release command; then design a device to duplicate the command.

Hang on, not so difficult after all.
