I using win vista to install nfs carbon on my desktop pc, after installed, i launch the game it appear nfsc.exe has stopped working. But on my laptop using vista too, it can install and directly play, what's the problem with desktop? Note: my desktop 3dcard: 8800gts & laptop 3dcard: 8400m gs

nfs carbon works for me, on vista with nvidia 6150 and 2600xt, no crash or whatever.
just make sure update ur gc driver

The gc driver is the latest version in my desktop pc. I'm wired why laptop can but desktop can't.

i went crash all the time, but when i play dungeon siege/ scarface, no prob etc. any1 knew what just happened??

Can you start your Carbon at all?
Apparently, Carbon do have problem with Vista which none of those in-game videos (including the opening EA video) are compatible with Vista. Some codec problem if I'm not mistaken. There are two solution as far as I can remember:

1 - Rename the movie folder. But then you will not have any in-game video at all.
2 - Install Carbon's final patch...i forgot what version, 1.3 or 1.4. The last patch was supposed to cure the video incompatibility.

gengstapo: Carbon are known to crash all the time. Try install the final or 2nd last patch.

latest version i think is 1.4, i got the collector edition which is already version 1.4, this should explain why it doesnt crash for me

I can start my CARBON until the EA logo finish appear. That's mean was video problems, coz the next should be going to video display. So where should i get the patch files? Is it the patch files purposely created for vista?

u can d/load the patch from EA site, but have to reg. 1st

nope, i use xp pro
the 1.4 i use was the no dvd executable file only

I downloaded the patch file and copy it into the NFS CARBON folder and patch it, but it still remain the same problem. Is it i patch the file wrongly?
