To those who have been to NZ for WHV, is it really necessary to have the sufficient funds in our bank account to be eligible to apply? At what point do they check your bank account for the said fund? I wanted to apply for the next round but I don't think I can save that much money in time....

Minimum pay + 8% holiday pay. Cannot wait for April so can get 50cents more per hour hahaha. #lifeofanimmigrant Actually it's only 12 hours, 2 30 minutes meal break, unpaid.

Nope they didn't ask for it. The officer was like 'OH you're here for working holiday. Go on then! Enjoy NZ!" Haha.

better prepare it, who know someone might not able to find a job, at least save for rainy day.

if bad luck or encounter strict immigration officer, you'll have big trouble

Well I guess it's OK if I borrow from someone to put it in my account temporarily? I will get a job before going there

lol. Granted a visa doesnt mean you can find a job.
That why they put requirement to have some money, to ensure you can still carry ur holiday in nz without bringing any problem.

If you didnt able to found any job, wat you gonna eat?

Think rational about it

I'm at Roxburgh now at South Island. My friend applied for the job and put in my name as well haha. Apple season is ending in May/June though.

I also have friends in Hastings, doing apple too! smile.gif

Hey any seniors can help? I'm done with my working holiday. What's the best way to get back the tax refund? 🤔 Do I need to close bank account as well before leaving the country?
