There's a number of cases where the players die during the game. What's the actual cause of that? Fitness? Fatigue? Latest death, surprisingly, happened in UK. Motherwell captain diesCondolence to his club, family and friends. This post has been edited by Belphegor: Dec 30 2007, 03:54 AM

Not a chance. It happened in SPL not EPL. Besides, it's the prime time for EPL around this corner of time. Too much $take involved

Does drug play a part? I see a lot players passed away due to heart attack/failure.

This is the third player this year. Sad case. Puerta's one hit the hardest. I was watching that game.

Players these days push them selfs alot to fight for places in the first team, the young ones can stand the pressure but as players get older it gets hard to keep their place....makes you wonder how great players like Giggs, Speed and Oakley can maintain their first team spots day in and day out.....Kudos to them !

Modern football takes a lot of toll physical and mentally on players. I guess sometimes injuries would be blessing for pro modern footballers as they got a chance to recuperate. I wonder does the players that died on the pitch have any long term injuries before?
