Let me run through a little of POC history with you.
POC started off as a thread complaining on a shop called Aarado which buys thermal paste from Ira**an and sells it off at ridiculous prices to consumers.
This complain brought together most of Penang PC enthusiast.
As we continued to discuss about shops and service, an idea came up to form this unofficial club for all Penang Enthusiast which we call Penang Overclockers Club.
We had some unofficial TT sessions and also a overclocking and sharing session.
Talking about this, maybe it's time for another gathering as we now have new members joining.

So, that should answer your question on why are we here instead of overclocking subforum. In this thread, we do not restrict to the discussion on overclocking only, it's more to the sharing of all PC related information, be it sales, service, shop information, new hardware release and everything.

The 4850s run a little hot on the reference cooler iirc, so it's more recommended to get one with a custom cooling like the Gainward which comes with Arctic Accelero under it. It claims to run 30% cooler.

Allngap is selling OEM E8400s for RM420, however u need to get a fan for it.
Anyway, a 2nd hand 3870 would cost around RM350.
Well, it might not be as good as the 9800GT, but for that price, it's hard to complaint.

Guys, need some feedback here.
Tried to call Gaban the other day but he was not around, already talked to KC regarding the issue. Ok here's the situation:

I just got an Gaygaybyte EP45-Extreme from another forumer. It was a cash+exchange deal.

I received the mobo last week, set it up bare and tried to boot. Upon 1st boot, i got C1 error with continous short beeping. Checked the manual, C1 is ram related while continous short beeping is Power error. I noticed that my processor fan socket is not functioning, there's not power from that slot. I took out my rams, tried out in another pair of slots, still C1 and power error beep. Then took out both sticks, tried the ram slots 1 by 1. When i come to ram slot 4, it booted, but 1,2, and 3 all still C1. The used another piece of ram, C1 all the way to ram slot 4. Then i got my spare micron OEM rams, also same thing, booted on ram slot 4 single stick. Everytim i try to boot dual channel, the board gives C1.

So here are the statistics:
Pairs of rams tested in multiple configs: 6 pairs
Times booted dua channel: nil
Times booted single channel ram slot 1,2: nil
Times booted single channel ram slot 3: 1
Times booted single channel ram slot 4: 5 times as of last nite

Do you guys think this board need RMA or is it my ram problem? Anyone has any idea what is this due to or what could have caused this?

This deal is not completely done yet as i have not sent out the item from my end. Only banked in the cash portion. So do you guys reckon me to send this board back for a refund or try get the rma and only send the other party the item traded once i get my replacement board.(the more desirable situation to me)

And i did mention about the cpu fan thingy right, the previous owner just told me that the cpu fan will start running only after the board complete post 75, so i have not get to 75 yet when i was trying the cpu fan socket. Will try it again tonight. Hopefully everything ok, i like this board a lot...It's so cool...the heatpipes...

* Will test it out thoroughly tonight, if still no good, then have to ask our Uncle Jack help me RMA the board liao...1 month without mobo. Anyone got spare mobo for Q9550 can loan out?
