i plan to get a WD 640GB HDD for external use with maybe a vantec nexstar 3 enclosure.
just wondering if the HDD might overheat n fry for such a capacity?

Reporting back to POC:

I'm not too happy with OCZ Reaper's OC ability, so far I can't get it stable past 1008Hz.
I loosened up the timings and adjusted the vdimm up from stock but I'll get errors in OCCT and Prime.
I was hoping for AT LEAST, 1066MHz. 

Maybe a Kingston Hyper X or Crucial Ballistic next time.  We'll see.

I'm already at vdimm 2.3 - my mobo will only go up to 2.5

Any suggestions?

I mean the Ballistix.

While for the Reapers, only the PC8500 sticks r good.
Others are normal cz they're not D9GMHs...
