this mobo really got many OC option compare to DS3... have to spend time to tweak with it  whistling.gif
nvm, my father's rig put at my housetown  laugh.gif
I would recommend go for Tower 120... I bought this S1283 last time because I did not notice that there is another bulk selling Tower 120... If I know it, sure I will go for Tower 120  icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on January 5, 2008, 1:25 pmgsan: Intel C2D E6550 ( Conroe G0 ) : 3278MHz @ 1.38vcore : DFI LP DK P35-T2RS : 2x1gb Crucial 10th Anni ddr2 667 : 468 @ 4-4-4-12, 2.2vdimm : Xigmatek S1283

additional info:
this E6550 is based L726B batch, retail unit. and the ram is based D9GMH chipset. NB changed to NC-U6 and the S1283 installed at vertical position, original fan come with S1283 running at full speed, ~2100rpm

vcore reading:
bios set | bios reading | cpu-z reading (idle/load) | SG reading (idle/load)

Nice mobo. Not much vdrop/vdroop at all. thumbup.gif

For my P35-DS3, bios set 1.425, orthos load cpuz vcore 1.360v sweat.gif sweat.gif

QUOTE(gsan @ Jan 5 2008, 09:01 PM)
I believe tower 120 is perform better than s1283... btw, it is at normal room temperature, no air-cond, side panel closed.

FYI, at first, I installed the s1283 horizontally because if at vertical position, it will crash with the NB heatsink. but the temperature damn high, 66~68'c during full load.
*
I'm using xigmatek S1283 too. You temperature is weird. How come so high?

For my E6750 using orthos (small FFT), at 3.5Ghz at 1.425v (bios), 1.36v (cpu-z load) - core temp 0.95.4 shows 59-60'c only...... hmm.gif

yeah... the power of 4 phase digital PMW + 16 MOSFET flex.gif

your S1283 installed vertically or horizontally? now I change to vertically, temperature back to normal, 3.3GHz full load @ 54~56'c

Eh? How come so much difference at different orientation? My mobo is flat..... If it was in a casing, it would be vertical.....

Errrr... I thought vdroop was a safety feature?

Anyway, how many mosfet does the P35-DS3 have, BTW? hmm.gif ( I look at my mobo and seems like everything looks like a mosfet!!! laugh.gif )

as I said before during TT last time, nowadays Intel proc no longer produce the same VID a.k.a vcore for every same eg. E6750. last time all the proc eg. P4 2.4C have the same default vcore, but now, not every E6750 got the same vcore, eg. some is 1.325v, some is 1.350v. that's why on the box you'll see it label max 1.35v for the proc

the DK NB heatsink is a bit taller, that's why crash with S1283. but tower 120 is taller than the NB heatsink, I guess it wont have any problem during installation.
