Nokia N81 is a truly exciting smartphone combining the power of Symbian 9.2 OS spiced up with the new N-Gage platform. It is a multimedia phone that comes with dedicated music and gaming keys, 3.5 mm headphone connector and 3G and WLAN connectivity, the Nokia N81 multimedia computer is a true mobile entertainment powerhouse. With a sleek, polished surface and keys that light up when you activate them, accessing content on the 3D multimedia menu is fast and intuitive.

There are two versions of the handset - standard and 8GB. The standard version features a memory card slot, the other has none but offers the exciting 8GB of onboard memory. The N81 got the Nokia MAP software preload in the device and the A-GPS also, but didnot have the GPS receiver in the device, so just can for you to browse the MAP, can't use to find you location and navigation, unless you add another external GPS receiver to use it.

Oh, which mean i can only download map and plan my route, but i can't really lock my position. :-x

May I know what is the major different between GPS and A-GPS? I believe both also cost me data charge when using navigation and free for find my location.

GPS is a hardware device to receive satelite signal, A-GPS Assisted-GPS is a software that online download the data about the nearby satelite data will get from the GPS hardware, but A-GPS must assign to a server before can work.
With A-GPS data, GPS can obtain the location more faster and reliabe.
GPS didnot cost to data charge, the data charge is go to the MAP download on Nokia MAP application.
A-GPS only cost to a few cent of data charge of operation.

Ok, so which mean N95 has built in GPS receiver but not N81. If i want to use N81 GPS, then i have to buy external GPS receiver which will cost me few hundred bucks right.

Ya...Btw, its depends on ur needs. If GPS is a must thn N95 or N82 is better lo but the price for N95/N82 is expensive than N81. smile.gif

Not all mp4 are created the same. You have to convert it to nokia mp4. I was using total video converter and there was a option to convert to nokia mp4.

Cause i also had the same problem before, convert it to mp4 and it lags like hell, after done some research only know that you must convert it to codec that n81 support by default.

hope this answer your question.
