Well according to a amp guide I read somewhere, the cube is better for high gain stuff like metal and such.

While the vox is for mid gain.. In between.

Actually its all up to personal preference. It will be best that you get to test both of them and find out which you like best. smile.gif

I prefer the Vox because of it's warmer rock tone, which is what I mostly play anyway.
If you play full out balls to the wall metal, then the Roland is your better bet.

IMO too heavy
not versatile enough
there are like 2 clean channels the rest are all dirty

best that you try out both to suit your playing style..

but reviews favor the vox more than the cube...

check out ckmusic they hv sale now on vox ad30vt and the vt-xl too..

last i heard from themm, all the advt and advt-xl series only left 1 more ad30vt and 1 more ad50vt-xl...hehehe..

all the best....!

ive got the cube 30. been with me for 3 years aredi. build quality is good. weight is ok i think, no problem carrying it up several floors. havent tried lifting the ad30 so can give a comparison smile.gif.
soundwise, to me its an allrounder. the metal sounds, clean are nice, basic built in effects.
U'll have to try both of them to know which one u prefer wink.gif

hmm here are some clips from the ad50
recorded with a pc mic directly infront of the speaker of the amp straight from an epi les paul

uk80's - supposedly the jcm800 modeller, played random stuff

numetal - supposedly the dual rectifier modeller [i think its missed the bottom end the rectifier has] played whatever left of metal which i remember ><

pardon the poor playing ><

the numetal sounds pretty ok.
but that uk80s doesnt really sound like what one would expect a jcm800 to be like.

so yea, i dont see why the Vox cant handle all out metal tones anyway.

and if you're still confused which amp to get...why not the line6 spider III 30W combo?
CK sale had it for RM650...but its over now tongue.gif

i know =p
its the modellers name ><

@everdying
heh, im just repeating wat others say
waddya think ?
all i know its a 100w fulltube uk amp single channel [marshall im thinking] famous in the 80's [got this from the manual lol]

used an epi lp with '59 and JB,
i think the settings with the uk80's was bass at 8 o'clock, mid at 4 o'clock and treble at 1 o'clock

numetal bass was maxed, mids were 1 o'clock, treble 2 o'clock

Yeah. Herman is a Peavey guy, but not sure if he has that Marshall poweramp still....
But his main feature is the rocktron prophesy...... so a power amp + Prophesy II would be your best bet.
