hi all sifus and pros,i'm newbie in photography,stilla student,using a olympus S510uz(known as semi-DSLR)....recently i toook some picture of flowers and leaves..........so PLEASE COMMENT AND GUIDE ME TO IMPROVE MY SKILLS......

hehe,actually i snap two picture.one is focusing the front one,then this one is actualy lost focus.....haha

pic 6 not bad...can go closer...
pic 9 i think you should focus on the front object... as its covering a big portion of the picture which makes it look distracting and overpowered the main object(white flower)...

number 6 works for me. its pretty good actually, maybe you increase the contrast and saturation a little in photoshop might work smile.gif

Overall composition for all photos were too busy. You can use a longer focal length to blur the BG or use a wider aperture.

macro = object only/ zoom in to part of the object only, no other( in my dictionary)
u need close up filter + zooming atleast X2-X3

personally, i only think #6 is nice.

are you really using the SP-510UZ's super macro mode? make sure you are.

generally - composition.
1. angle towards subject
2. background

it helps a lot when you take note of those. by doing so you will be able to
1. make the subject look nicer
2. background less distracting

let's take #3 for example. you could choose a different angle, say a little bit to the front. and angle that doesn't even show the stem. since the bud is pink and leaves are dark green, see if you can get a dark green background instead of white background.

#4 and #9 also lacking subject.

Added on December 30, 2007, 8:05 pmbtw,goldfries and all the sifus,i'm using the semi DSLR,how can i blur the background of a potrait or this macro?? if portrait i use macro mode or zoom,i will not be clear anymore and it will probably blur the whole picture................
