Hi Everyone. Could use some feedback as the more i read on processors and mobos the confused i'm getting so could use some help from some master/gurus in lowyat.net to help me out on this.

I'm looking for a new rig, and below shows some option that I've managed to dig up recently. But due to the limited time I have (Bound to work zzzz) I can't really source much info. Some advise will really help me a lot on this so i'll be thanking those that will be posting in advance
notworthy.gif

Here goes nothing....

Motherboard: ASUS P5K RM425 or
ASUS P5kR RM499 or
Gigabyte P35 Series RM400

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.06GHZ RM925 or
Intel Core 2 Quad QX6600 2.4GHZ RM935

(What is the difference in performance? Will it matter that much?)

RAM: OCZ PC6400 DDR2 RAM 4GB? RM380 or
2GB Crucial Ballistix RM (How much is this?)

Graphic Card: (Asus, Gigabyte or XFX) 8800 GT 512MB DDR3 RM900-1100

Casing: Cooler Master/Antec/ATX RM200-300

PSU: silverstone st50f or a st56f
silverstone 560w RM 350

P/s: I did not include HDD and Dvd-burner coz i have one 320GB WD HDD(sata2) and a LG dvd-burner. No OC will be done coz I don't even know how to do this (Unless one day.. just one day... i'll learn how to do it? lol doh.gif )

Mainly I'll be using it for entertainment like gaming, movies or such, but not to the extend of hardcore gaming (play games 24/7, i still need to work and I donwan my gf to kill me lolz)...

Appreciate any of ur advise in advance. Thanks again! Welcome any suggestions on what I can add or remove, flamers... please find something else to do than to flame ppl's thread sleep.gif"

the rams dont make a difference unless if you want to overclock it for intel setups due to the northbridge fsb bottleneck, so, if you installed 1066mhz, 800mhz, 667mhz, the performance will be similar to the 667mhz rams only.

for psu, get a silverstone st50f or a st56f, sure looks more assuring then a CM, just look at the combined continuous 12v rails smile.gif

Added on December 28, 2007, 3:09 pmfor the processor, a e6750 would suffice, or a q6600 would suffice. dont need to get such a overpriced processor no?

Updated my post (thanks to your suggestions!)

Well I can't be sure on the proc side as both Q6600 or E6850 are the same price. Can't really know what difference would it make after reading tons of reviews (even intel webbie.. made things worse zzz well expected since its their own webbie..sure promote to da max rclxub.gif )

How much would the PSU silverstone st50f or a st56f cost ? Trying to fit into 3k budget since i've excluded HDD and Burner.

On the RAM, saw a lot of other threads ppl are mentioning Crucial Ballistix Ram... Would this fit?
Thanks again!

get the quad core lor.. got future use mar haha, for the rams, get normal value rams if you are not overclocking because it will be a waste of $$

st50f is about rm 300 st56f is rm330, i would prefer the st56f smile.gif

HMm.. silver stone and CoolerMaster both offering 550W and 560W individually, both selling around the same price too. Obvious difference? I guess i'll go for quad then, since seeing ppl mentioning about OCing the Proc. God knows one day i'll go insane and OC my PC tongue.gif

How about Mobo then? Asus will do fine? Anyone has the same Rig as this? Any idea will this PC have any issues on heat or anything? Cracking my mind now on what casing to get (looking at CM but getting bored of it as past 2 PCs also Coolermaster lol)...

CPU- 46 "C
Motherboard - 47 "C

Using Ntune:
The GC is showing 74 "C.

Playing some games now.

Is this normal?
