 Installing WoW, Copy from XP to Vista

Has anyone of you tried copying and pasting the whole game folder into a vista machine from an XP machine and run the game successfully?

Or do I have to go through the painful installation process?

Unless your installation directory is located in your C drive (XP install directory) then there really isn't a need to copy and paste it elsewhere. I've always kept all my games on a different partition and WoW runs fine without a fresh install whenever I format and even when I made the change to Vista.

As far as I can recall, yes it does work even if you copy and paste. I think...

yea... just launch the launcher one time, and viola!! ur registry is fixed as well
