Hi. I have just started working and my pay is little.

I have repaid PTPTN on the previous month but I paid on RM100 monthly. sweat.gif

There are only 3 months left before the end of the year and I decided to pay RM300 in 1 shot for 3 of these month.

I will be dead broke but will be able to survive the month.

Or should I pay RM100 for each month so that I can better manage my money. Thanks. notworthy.gif

hi, i really cannot tahan liao....i wanna pay off everything in one lump sum d......13k left....

I have talked to some old man regarding this matter.

They advised not to pay in one lump sum. Some of your money can be invested in some place. By earning the interest, you could then pay back to PTPTN.

What will you do if you suddenly need that lump sum of money in case of emergency?

I am being charged by CIMB Bank an amount of 50cents for every transaction to PTPTN. Hm, I will be charged RM6.00 if I decided to pay PTPTN for every month for a year. hmm.gif

i have got a job now, so monthly, i will continue paying rm 100 ...

I am collecting RM100 each month until I reach a certain target (5months) and pay them in a shot. I am doing this to reduce the transaction cost. sad.gif

How to check how much are they charging for the interest? I believe that the contract that I signed was 3% but what about now? rclxub.gif

My aim is to pay of RM5,000 by the end of next year with my fresh graduate salary.

Some people said that the money keep put in FD can rolling back but I think that is just impossible.

I am being charge around RM100 for administration cost for each month. Put money in FD also don't have this returns might as well just pay up.

actually where u guys pay the payments without charges by the banks?
*
Go and pay at the PTPTN counter if you are staying area around KL. Then you will need to spend time to travel there. Don't forget about finding parking. sweat.gif

Might as well pay the RM0.50 for the bank transaction cost. The value is insignificant to some.

I read from the PTPTN website.

We are entitled for a rebate if we could finish up paying the loan before the time allocated.

Anybody could confirm on this? hmm.gif

Why so mah fan? I got first class and the loan was converted to scholarships. I borrowed the max amount: RM82,500. You know what? Then, I moved to work in Singapore coz I don't have any obligation to repay the money. PTPTN scholarship has no bond, so you are free to leave the country smile.gif good eh? much better than any other scholarships.

For those who are studying and taking PTPTN loan, you know what to do. Follow my foot steps and you'll earn big money while studying and working smile.gif

Not everybody as smart or as lucky as you. By the way, most people here have already completed their studies. Nothing can be done to change the grades of their results.

3% is like house loan....the faster you pay at first, the lower the interest rate that you will be paying after annualized.

1% is like car loan, which if you are paying over >10years, 1% is cheaper.

Eg 50K for 15 years
If 3%, total interest paid will be >12K
If 1%, total interest will be 7500 only
On both occasion assuming you are paying according to the schedule.
For my case, I pay more during the first 4 years, so the interest rate is a whole lot lower, should I change to 1% now. Besides, my loan is just 21K, so can better settle asap without changing plan and going through all the hassles. Bear in mind, if you wanna go oversea after you sign the 1% agreement, you need to tell 3 months upfront.

I'm not here to discourage people to change to 1%, just IMO it doesn't worth the hassles, just me. Fact is, I even encourage my friends to change to 1% as their PTPTN loan amount are huge.... ohmy.gif

Wow, where did you get this info to support your statement?

My loan is around RM40,000.00. Should I convert it to 1%? I was thinking to fast-fast pay finish also.

Jumlah Ujrah = Jumlah Pembiayaan Pokok x Kadar Ujrah (1%) x tempoh bayaran balik (tahun)

I got this formula from the PTPTN pdf. So what would be the interest be after conversion? Need to pay ikut tahun?

Aren't they suppose to give you the surat pelepasan hutang on the spot? Btw, do they give you rebate if you pay lump sum?

I paid online. How are they suppose to give me the surat pelepasan hutang on the spot. doh.gif

According to here.

Question number 7 : If the borrower settles the loan earlier, a rebate will be given. The amount of the rebate I dunno.

Feel quite sad.

Today I went to EPF to withdraw money from account 2 to PAY BACK PTPTN. However, I am not eligible since it only allow those who signed agreement with PTPTN from year 2001 onwards. Really sad. I signed my agreement in 1999.

Want to pay also cannot pay. Apalah.
*
No money to pay cash?

Me paid lump sum to clear off pinjaman 1.
Then I call up PTPTN and they say that the payment rujukan on E-Fes tidak tepat.
Must isi a borang and fax to unit lejar to verify if you had bayar cukup.
Until today no news. mad.gif
Call up few times and the pegawai also cannot verify.

My application for conversion from 3% to 1 % --> Approved but still considering  hmm.gif

Under 1% plan, no doubt you appear paying lesser interest, but you will be charging one off admin fees. And, for unknown reason (yet to clarify with PTPTN), the opening balance of unsettled amount is higher, so that makes the 3% plan more attractive and result in lower cash outflow.

Anyone here made the comparison?

Payment will be deducted from your salary.
3% = House loan methodology.
1% = Car loan methodology.

not dont wanna pay back, everyone have their own inconvenience to pay back. for my case, i was extended 1 yr, and i had a hard time finding jobs, resulting in my pay is low, and i need transport to go to work. is this fair to blacklist ppl? try to think other alternatives instead of blacklist from going overseas.
*
So many excuse for not paying. Already borrowed so please pay back. The world is not fair. So pandai-pandai budget your expenses to pay back.
Me with surviving salary also manage to pay back.

those whom butthurt with my statement, it's definitely true.

Carilah siapa-siapa pegawai kerajaan. Too troublesome. That is why I just stick to the 3%.
