Hi guys, I just started to pay ptptn. I have a few questions here. Just curious about the ujrah thingy.

1. For example if my debt is 30k. The repayment time is 15 years. If I managed to finish paying the loan in 10 years, does that mean I will pay less for the interest, or the interest is fix even I finished paying earlier.

2. Let's say if I accidentally skipped one month payment, will I be charged for extra interest or principal cost? Even I repayed two months in the following month?

3. How do I know when is the date that is the deadline for me to pay every month? Will ptptn send me an email? I worry I miss the deadline and get charged for extra cost.

Thanks for answering.

1. It'll stop charging you interest when you finish paying.
2. If you look at your online ptptn statement, there is an ujrah charge every month.. If you miss 1 month payment, when you pay on the 2nd month, the payment will be used to settle 2*interest, only then minus from principal.. So if you split payment and pay twice in a month, it'll cover 2* ujrah.. Then the next month's payment will just be fully principal..
3. No email to remind you, but got email to thank you after you made payment.. Anytime within the month is okay.. I'm not sure if there is a cut off for the month's payment.. I think the most is just a '1' in your ccris.. Not too sure of the financial implications of forgetting a month of payment..

Hope this helps.

Agree with what Grumpy is saying.. When you say that by paying Rm500 per month, you'll be paying less interest, that statement is correct cuz if you have made early settlement, then the remaining interest won't be charged to you.. Since the interest is added to your total owed every month, you will be saving on the ones that have not been added to your statement.. One thing I noticed is that I started paying off my loan before the start of my repayment month/year and they calculated the ujrah monthly based on the remaining amount at the start of repayment date.. So that might help you save some interest
