Anyone know how they count the interest for PTPTN??
My loan is 21k. Interest is 3%.

My question are:

a) So the interest for one month is 21000 x (0.03/12) = MYR 52.50
Is that correct?

b) Interest started to count in 17th Oct. But i already started to pay before Oct. The interest should be counted base on the balance on 17Oct. Am i right??

I get the PTPTN Statement, it showed that interest is only MYR 48.70 rclxub.gif It's slightly lower than 3% lor So i believe my statement in Question b) is right hmm.gif

c) But when i compare my statement with my frens that never pay before, they have the same interest as mine doh.gif So how does PTPTN calculate interest?? rclxub.gif

a) Correct.

b) Correct, the interest is calculated based on the outstanding loan.

c) If your friends never pay, their interest definitely won't be decreasing and will increase from RM52.50. It's impossible your friends didn't pay and their interest will become RM48.70 now, unless the loan amount they took is different from yours.

I've sent an e-mail to PTPTN to ask bout this as well...so wait for their feedback and see what they say...

TOTAL Bayaran Ansuran (10 years) = RM21000+kos pentadbiran (3,821.38) = RM24,821.38 (OK,fine, Tally)

*
Do you mind to explain how you get this?

for those get the loan from PTPTN,i think you will receive 1 letter from them and show you all the calculation
*
They only show you the amount...
no calculation is showed.
Even use the calculator provided by the PTPTN website, it's not tally with what is written in the PTPTN Statement... rclxub.gif

Do you guys know what is the official mail to make complain bout PTPTN??
Last 10 of Jan, i mailed to 'webmaster@ptptn.gov.my' but still din receive any reply from them....

I've compare my statement wif my frens' statement...

Here's the scenario: Me, A & B (same amount of loan)
Me = Pay b4 loan start count
A = Never Pay b4
B = Pay after the loan start count

Conclusion i get is:
My total interest is the highest and B is the lowest.
A has the constant interest.
B total interest slightly lower than A ( This situation theorectically correct)
Mine is totally unacceptable, interest is constant even though i paid b4 interest start count, and my interest is higher than A or B rclxub.gif

dont know about you.. but my interest count is incorrect also... email them, called them up...they called back, reply back.... and now no more sound d... i'm still being overcharge on interest  (around $one ringgit plus minus per month)

what is your loan amount?
*
21k...
Today is the cut off date for payment, so tomorrow login again and see the statement...see what's the interest 1st...
Even though it's plus minus RM1 or RM0.10, still no mood liao...interest higher than those who din pay doh.gif

There's something fishy bout the 1% and 3%...
If 1% is really that good and benefits us, then they should have automatically change for us, why need Agreement Letter hmm.gif

They might just send notification whether we eligible for 1% instead of Agreement Letter...

I tried to make payment for my PTPTN loan through http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/loan/ptptnlogin.jsp? , used the SMS service to check for my pin number, entered it, but it says it's invalid. Anyone here having the same problem?
*
not sure whether you get your pin or not.
But the pin# is the No Rujukan which is stated in your PTPTN statement letter. You can check from there.
As for payment, I go to efes link available there instead of epay.

Anyways, anyone here tried the ujrah 1% thingie? So far, based on what I've read here, and googled, it's more like a car loan while the old 3% is more like a home loan. And that fixed payment by IRB is a real deal breaker.
*
My opinion:

If your current balance is low and going to finish re-pay, then not worthy to change to Ujrah 1%
As they calculate base on the balance of the cut off date...

If your current balance is high, then it's worthy to change to Ujrah 1% and takes your time to repay

I applied for this, but yet to have feedback. I even write enquiry to http://icare.ptptn.gov.my and their feedback is as below. I submitted the signed document 1 month ago. Till now still no status whether approve or not. Interest in the statement is still the same 3% rclxub.gif

hi guys....

i want to fill the documents which change my interest rate from 3% to 1%

the problem is....where am i suppose to find "saksi" ?

2nd thing is do i really need to bring my parents (penjamin) to sign the documents so the "saksi" can witness it???
*
You can go find Pesuruhjaya Sumpah to sign and verify as saksi as well as verify you and your parent's IC copy.
No need to bring along your parents.
They charge around RM3 to RM4 per signature...

I did mine at Ipoh town and JB town..different location as I forget to bring along my parents IC copy during first stamping...

You guys need to try to login via this website --> http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway/

My statement no longer being updated in this website --> http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/loan/ptptnlogin.jsp

Main reason should be cos I have been approved for the 1%

They roll back all the payment and interest been made before the approval from EFES.
Then they reflect my latest debt status in the earlier website I shared.

Personal Opinion as below:

You guys can opt to apply for it if ur balance debt is still huge lor....dun care bout the monthly payment/ auto deduct...
Cos my company actually dun allow any auto deduct from salary.
But i still get approved. So which means that PTPTN didnt actualy contacted my company.

I'm no longer working in M'sia, but as long as i got do payment, dun think they will revert it back.

Well, worth the hassle been done for the signatures...cos after roll back the payment and interest, i saved RM1k
then right now, i monthly save RM30....cos previously every mth the interest was like RM50...now the interest is only RM17...

I'm not planning to clear all in short time...guess I'll drag it till end of contract...which is 15 years repayment... biggrin.gif
So this 1% save me lots of money....

just to share that, i took the 1% agreement.

my company dun do auto deduction --> so ptptn dun do verification in this. as long as they see the forms completed, they'll process n approve.

i changed job 6mths ago, never inform ptptn, never payback for 6 mths --> still enjoying the 1%.

i still enjoy my cash flow n pay annualy at lump sum instead of mthly biggrin.gif
with the 1%, monthly i save rm30 on the interest.
base on my case, 1% do suits me
