i've just finished my course last year in oct. up til now, i didn't receive any letters from ptptn. can anyone tell me what should i do? should i contact ptptn? because i have no idea how much do i need to pay? do i need to fill up any forms or anything? i've asked most of my friends and they are all clueless as well... blink.gif

Should do own research do not rely on friends. You college / uni graduate should be smart enough to do internet research on how to pay back borrowed loan. Want to spoon feed like in college / uni ka?

I didn't use E-Fes. I use CIMBCLICKS and the charge still the same, 50 cent.
*
Bro how long would E-Fes updates itself if paying by CIMBCLICKS?

Anyone here is using RHB Billpay to transfer the loan settlement on a monthly basis? I have tried checking my efes account but none of the monthly payment (paid 5 times so far) had shown in the efes statement. This is freaking me out..
*
Better check with RHB, usually when pay with CIMBCLICKS, the longest time taken to be updated via efes is 1 week.

i have yet to received the letter from them

Added on March 16, 2012, 9:11 pmAttached is the surat pelepasan PTPTN that i received this week after settling my debt three years after i grad 2008. Debts paid this January the same week with CNY and you guys need to call them to send the letter else they will just forget about it.

FYI, there is no such things as potongan dari gaji because my case when i applied ujrah 1% i didnt include it. I am sure because i ask the personnel when i submit to them. I pay them yearly and not monthly....

Congraz bro. I hope I can finish repayment by 28.
This one is worth framing up rather than my degree.

Since they are abolishing PTPTN, still need to repay? Loans will be nullified later?

Wu Ming, how much left you need to pay?
I'm also 28 this year, working almost 4.5 years already.
Most of it is contract basis...
All my savings gone to settle PTPTN nia.....=.="
summore my basic salary <2k
must go seek for a higher paying job liao...
then can settle ptptn in one lump sum
*
Hi Lipton Tea,
About RM30k lor. I dunggu guy at school. SPM no skor many A's and not bumiputra. So tak dapat gahmen uni.
I started paying since last year. Every year I lump sum RM10k + interests.
Aiyoh, you have to start looking for better paying jobs loh.
My advise you have to demand your basic pay higher. Company other benefits bullshit you should push it aside first.

Hi, oh you pay yearly....currently im dumping RM 500 every mth....
After settling my PTPTN, i plan to buy low cost apartment but.....for my salary, im not entitled for the RM 75k home....since i have to earn at least RM 2.5K only eligible....
*
Hi Lipton Tea,
Ok lah, at least you are paying. RM500 should be sufficient to cover the 3% or 1% interests incurred every month.
I pay annually so I can reduce the transaction fee of RM0.50 for every time I pay thru online banking.
Good choice in opting to buy an apartment, but I think you should invest in yourself first such as skills so that you can opt for a better paying job.
Salary < RM2k is nothing nowadays especially in KL.

so that 3% is Rm120 every months? T__T
If I try changing from 3% to 1% what are the differences?

Do I like have to finish the debt in within how many years or they will directly deduct from my salary or....
*
You take the loan, you pay for it. Didn't you read the agreement before blindly signing it?
For your case recommend you to change to 1%. Don't think you will complete paying this loan in your lifetime.
So with 1%, you can slowly-slowly pay until old and become slave to the system. Good job. laugh.gif

Btw I assume this means rm500 of my loan is free from interest? rm500, I see no different sweat.gif

No la. Interests is total amount you loaned. You can use simple mathematics formula to calculate whether it is 3% or 1%.

Dear PTPTN Experts,

I graduated sometime in July of last year and am now seriously looking into paying my PTPTN obligations to avoid being blacklisted.

Can someone tell me the MINIMUM amount that I can pay each month or will that amount vary based on the sum borrowed/ degree pursued etc. ?

Thank you in advance for your help !
*
Minimum amount you can repay monthly is RM50.00 only. However it is always recommended to pay more than the monthly kos pentadbiran which is being charge. Higher amount of loan means high amount of kos pentadbiran.

PM says its expensive to give 20% rebate for entire PTPTN loan

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Wednesday indicated that it would be too expensive to give the 20% rebate incentive to those who pay regularly for the entire PTPTN loan rather than just the outstanding amount.

“We can't give everything. The incentive is to encourage those who have good values - that of paying back loans.

“If these loans are not returned than it will burden others,” he said, responding to questions from the online community about Budget 2013 on #TanyaNajib on Wednesday.

He was responding to a question from Mohd Faisal who asked why the government did not offer the 20% rebate incentive on the entire PTPTN loan.

Opposition party says will mansuhkan PTPTN if they manage to secure Putrajaya so I think better don't pay first and wait until the next GE.

Those who settled quickly earlier didn't get 20% discount. Rugilah. So just wait and monitor. cool2.gif

hi all,

i have a question here...if we settle the outstanding loan, we will get 20% discount right? what is the process for that?

assuming make it simple, i owe RM10k...so do i just pay RM8k straight away and they will close the 2k owed as discount?

thanks and appreciate inputs from those who has done this before.
*
For your case I strongly advise you to visit any 1stop PTPTN centre.

You then request a letter over the counter for full settlement. In the letter it will tell you the amount that you will need to pay for full settlement in order to get the 20% discount. You are only required to pay 80% of the loan.

If possible pay either with bank draft or cash so that PTPTN can straight away issue surat pelepasan hutang.

If you need more info, feel free to PM me. smile.gif

my friend has this ptptn loan for 2 different account. i understand that the first one (pinjaman pelajar 11) is 3% reducing balance. but the 2nd one (pinjaman pelajar 12), charging fixed RM120 per month. i tot it was 3% reducing balancing but the interest did not increase as no repayment was made every month.

if my fren wants to pay a lump sum of maybe 5k-10k into the 2nd account. is it better or just clear off the 1st account first?

Better to clear off the 1st account first.

Your friend got 2 loans. The first was probably for foundation studies and the second degree studies.

More on PTPTN's blacklist

Meanwhile, some 13,600 borrowers who have never paid back their loans were put on the list of Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS) last June, and are therefore unable to secure loans from any banks or financial institutions in the country.

Latest statistics show that some 224,000 PTPTN borrowers have been blacklisted as of December 31 last year. These defaulters will not be able to travel out of the country or renew or apply for passports.

QUOTE(DriksoN @ Mar 17 2016, 02:09 AM)
Something is wrong with my PTPTN. I graduated officially on August 2014 (based on my certificate). By right, I should only start paying 6 months after which is supposed to be February 2015.

But today, I was told by banker that my CCRIS shows that I did not pay for 25 months. I went to check my PTPTN statement online and indeed they start charging me since July 2013. How can this be possible?

From February 2015 to current date, I have paid around 6 or 7 times. When do they start counting the official date of my pay back? I thought it is supposed to be 6 months after graduation.

Can I make a complain to PTPTN about this? My housing loan was rejected by bank due to this reason. I was asked to clear my total outstanding (RM41k) in order to clear it off CCRIS. Any bayaran for tertunggak will not help my case at all according to banker.

What other ways can I do now?
*
You probably took 2 loans from PTPTN. First loan is for foundation studies therefore interests charged once foundation studies completed.

How they start counting reflected on your loan offer letter. Good luck.
